  1. 2004 Saleen S7

    575 bhp @ 5500 rpm
    570 lb-ft @ 4700 rpm

    0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds
    0-100 mph in 6.5 seconds
    1/4 mile in 10.8 seconds @ 131 mph
    Top Speed -- mph (I estimate 220+)

These performance numbers are the manufacters estimates.

The original Saleen S7 hit 223 mph with Car and Driver.

If the Saleen S7 can live up to the manufacters estimates I think it could beat the Mclaren F1. Im not talking just a drag race here either. This car creates the most downforce of any production car ever. It can go upside down in a tunnel at any speed above 160 mph.
I bet it could out handle the Mclaren F1 as well. It was one of the few cars to complete the slalom with a speed of over 70 mph with Road and Track.

Well I guess the S7 had a good DECADE to catch up with the F1, so it should very well match the mac's numbers. But the mac surprisingly bests most of the modern day supercars with a refreshing amount of practicality. Seriously, how many cars with these performance numbers can seat 3, and has 2 luggage bays? The innovative design alone makes this the better car. The saleen is nice, but I wouldn't want to be planted in it for any extended period of time with that race car snug cockpit. Also, I couldnt help but notice that snapple bottle cap fun-fact about the saleen's ability to run UPSIDE DOWN in a tunnel above 160mph. How would the car maintain traction with the fact that its own weight is reversed against its wheels? The car would have to produce enough downforce to exceed its own weight(probably twice or more its own weight) in order to stay planted to the track and maintain enough traction so that its speed doesn't faulter. Sir Isaac Newton must be spinning in his grave.

  6. But don't knock down the Saleen boys for trying, for me they get an "A" for effort.
