ss2- Sweet Lamb is over and stage leader is.... Sebastien Ogier, Loeb came 8th with 10.5 second differnce between him and Ogier and Rossi number 46 came 45th

    http://www.wrc.com/jsp/index.jsp?lnk=405&season=2008&rally_id=GB&category=&stage=2

    ss3 Myherin
Sebastien Ogier set the fifth fastest time - enough for him to retain the overall rally lead. “It’s a dream start - I’m very surprised,” said Ogier. “The first stage was very slippery. Even though I had the chance to see the lines on the road it was crazy!”

Making the jump from his usual two-wheel drive Citroen C2 to the four-wheel drive C4 WRC didn’t seem to be causing the Frenchman any problems. “This car is very impressive and I had a good feeling with it from the very first kilometre,” he said. “For the moment everything is perfect.”

Loeb came 3rd, stage winner was Jari-Matti LATVALA and rossi came 32nd (slowly catching)

  10. I miss the old Network Q days. When it really was a Rally GB.

  11. your not going to like this.....

    FLASH NEWS: Organisers cancel SS4
Organisers of Wales Rally GB have cancelled the event's fourth stage - the 3.67km run through Hafren.

The decision was made after the FIA Safety Delegate decided there was still too much ice for it to run safely. The stage had previously been cancelled this morning.

Spectators who bought tickets for Car Park A in Hafren are being offered free entrance to watch the second running of the Sweet Lamb stage this afternoon.

  12. The problem is that they aren't allowed to use ICE/Snow tyres for that rally.

  13. Newsflash from SS5: BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team driver Mikko Hirvonen is reported by his team to have rolled in SS5, Sweet Lamb 2. BP Ford Abu Dhabi Team driver Mikko Hirvonen rolled his car on the repeated Sweet Lamb stage - SS5.

The Finn rolled his Focus just before the finish line. He was able to get going and complete the stage but lost almost four minutes to the leaders.

Hirvonen’s team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala said the weather conditions on SS5 had been treacherous. “It was very difficult in there,” he said. “There is no ice but its raining very hard and the road was very wet”

Mikko managed to start the following SS6 stage but his car showed signs of frontal damage.

as Hafren was canceled again for too much ice they've moved on to sweetlamb again (SS5) current leader is Loeb, then duval, Ostburg, Ogier is 6th which still means hes the rally leader so far, holding Loeb up by 4.1s, but in between them is Mads ØSTBERG who is only
    0.3 secon behind Ogier.

    Sebastien Loeb/Daniel Elena
“There is so much mud. I tried very hard but there is just no grip. There is quite a bit of water in there now.”

    Valentino Rossi/Carlo Cassina
“It is still a bit tricky in there. There is a lot of water and mud. We lost the rear bumper too.”

  17. Turkish drivers hospitalised after crash
At 1340hrs the organisers of Wales Rally GB issued the following statement concerning Castrol Ford Team drivers Koray Muratoglu and Caglar Suren, who are competing in a Fiesta ST.

The driver and co-driver of Car 86, Koray Muratoglu and Caglar Suren, both from Turkey, have been involved in a collision with another vehicle on the non-competitive liaison section from SS2 (Sweet Lamb) to SS3 (Myherin).

The driver, who is conscious, has been taken by ambulance to Bronglas Hospital in Aberystwyth. The co-driver, who is conscious, has been airlifted to Princes Royal Hospital in Shrewsbury.

There are no reported injuries amongst the four people in the other vehicle. No more details are currently available.

Well bring you more information when we get it.

  18. SS7 takes us to Walter arena were there is Hail, sleet and torrential rain poured down on the stage, hampering visibility, creating deep puddles in the rutted ground and making muddy sections more treacherous then before. To make matters worse there was still a lot of ice around.

The combination of heavy rain and hot cars meant windscreen misting was a problem for many competitors too. But despite some de-misting worries of his own, Jari-Matti Latvala was the fastest driver through and has kept the rally lead. Loebs 2nd by 2.4s and in 3rd is Dani Sordo behind Loeb by only 0.4s.

which means Jari-Matti LATVALA is leading the rally in front of Loeb by 13.8s

  19. News flash: Subaru World Rally Team crew Chris Atkinson and Stephane Prevot rolled in stage seven, Walters Arena. The car subsequently caught fire. Neither crew member is seriously injured, but they are undergoing precautionary medical checks

  22. News flash update: Subaru World Rally Team crew Chris Atkinson and Stephane Prevot rolled in stage seven (Walters arena) on the first corner, 180 metres from the start.
The car subsequently caught fire. Neither crew member is seriously injured, but they are undergoing precautionary medical checks.

But Chris has been taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea for a precautionary medical check after a sustaining a hard blow to his crash helmet.

He is conscious and lucid and is being kept in Hospital overnight for observation.

An update on his progress will be made on Saturday morning.

Atkinson’s Impreza was very badly damaged in the crash but a team spokesperson confirmed that Chris and his co-driver Stephane Prevot were okay. Chris, however, was airlifted to hospital for precautionary checks.

The stage was stopped while Atkinson’s car was recovered

  23. So they use slicks perfectly fine on the Monte....

But yet gravel tyres aren't up to the same spec? Stupid shit

  24. It's a #$%#ing joke.
