  1. if you can prove financial responsibility, you can go without in texas (ie, if youre bill gates and can afford whatever the cap on the coverage is)
  2. Legally, is that no insurance or self-insured?
  3. no insurance IIRC.

    basically gotta be rich as balls though. but if youre rich as balls, you might as well get the insurance.

    Totally sucks man, they're such cool little cars. On the bright side you're okay. Take that for what it's worth.
  6. Yeah if it happened like 50m more up the road I would have been down the hill. But hopefully the a-pillar damage is just cosmetic

  8. Hrm. I asked 'cause I know in Alberta you can do something similar, except they let you put yourself down as your insurer. A lot of company trucks I've worked in, for example, were self-insured.
  9. It'll buff out mate. Bitta bog n new guard n she'll be right. Lots of parts easily available, red is a common mr2 colour.

  11. Replacing those bits is really not all that big of a deal. It shouldn't take more than a day.

  17. I've decided that if I ever get into that scenario in my car, I'm just going to try mad dorifto. Not going to try to "save it" or "mitigate". Gonna put the power down and try to pull it out.

  20. Had the fronts on for about 3 weeks now, the rears were put on before I bought it 7 weeks ago ro so

    Ok so today I started pulling it apart. Got the guard off to asses internal/strucural damage. Due to some light bending behind the guard it was a mission and a half to get it off

    So out came the grinder. And voila!

    Took it for a spin to check if the brakes/wheel alignment was shot.
    Pulls to the left a bit now.

    But oh well. Shit happens.
    Thought about the options I have. Looked for a parts car. Found a nice one that I might rip the shit out of too


    Luckily I don't need/have a turbo though
  24. Would probably take the bonnet (not frunk) off that one too. For shits and giggles mainly.
    Maybe steering wheel as well.

    That is of course if I do that.

  25. I think that's relatively common in the US, actually, but most require you put a giganto cash deposit down with the DMV.
