The lingenfelter IS the fastest STREET LEGAL (and emissions legal) car on the road. yes the 1.97 time was run on slicks, but they were street legal slicks. To say one car is better then the other all depends on the person. ie: I think the Lingenfelter is the best car for speed. For looks I would have to go with the Ferrari, for handling I would have to go with the Porche, and for comfort I would say BMW. but to say that the Lingenfelter is no match for the Porche is crazy. just look at the tests done. i respect almost all cars. hell, even Hondas. the only cars that i dont respect are the cars that are totally transformed and tried to be made into something that they were not meant for. ie: honda race cars aka "r!ce burners" hondas were made for fuel economy! not to have a folgers can put on the back of them to sound like hornets in a tuna can. i'll just leave it at that. A Corvette is a classy, classic, muscle car that has handling manners comparable to pretty much ANY rYcer POS. The Z06 has the MOST VALUE out of ANY "super-car" there is out there. A stocker Z06 can keep pace with a 355 with a good driver, and WOOP on it with just a simple, low pressure blower on it; all for $40,000 LESS! Simply put, all who trash the Corvette are stupid, uneducated IDIOTS who dont know sh¬t about cars. If you stopped and examined the facts for a moment, maybe, just maybe, you would see how good the Corvette really is. While it is definitely not a contender to a V12 Diablo VT6.0 or whatever they are now a days, it sure has more value than one. If i had the $300,000 to pay for that Lambo, i would just put 55k down on the Z06, and put 10k into the engine. A $65,000 Corvette would then be a contender with any Ferrari or Lambo from the factory. Lets see you say that the "crapy A$$ piece of Sh!t Z06" cant beat any Porsche or Ferrari... Hmmm lets see there is NO! current selling retail Porsche that could beat a ZO6. NOT 1 DUMBASS!!! Not a Turbo not a GT2 not anything! Ferrari's are to damn expensive for have V8s. Such as the 360 Modena OR Spider: 0-60 in 4.5 hmm thats the same stats as a 2003 Mustang Cobra! That means the ZO6 will have no problem beating a Ferrari either. No Ferrari with the same size engine as the Vette can beat it--not even the Challenge. Not even the V12 V12 575 Maranello OR the 456M GT/GTA. And if you own a Z06 you wont even have to worry about ever seing a Bugatti, Mazerati or Mclaren to race. Maybe MAYBE a Lamborghini which if you do its not gonna be any Murcielago. Only 100 in ALL of North America. Maybe a Diablo in which case the better driver will win. So the Z06 will beat any of the European cars you listed except for the ones that will never be seen in America. If you feel so negatively about the American cars too bad that Saleen have to make a car: S7 which will beat ANY Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche. Ill take the American car: Ford SVT Boss Mustang and you name 1 just 1 European car that will accelerate faster than me.

Um, isn't the Dauer 962LM made by Porsche? there's about as much difference in performance between the two as there is between a Z06 and an Impreza WRX STI (on pavement anyway). I bet you'd claim that the Z06 blows the NSX out of the water huh? Perhaps in straightline acceleration, but the NSX is far better handling, which can be seen when the two compete equally in any real race. Saleen S7, faster than the Ferrari Enzo? I don't think so. Stop being such a dumbass.

In one of the recent issues of R&T they had 3 seperate drivers test both the Z06 and NSX (and the Carrera). One was a proffessional race car driver, one was the magazine tester and the third was just your average guy who enjoys the occasional track day. When all the lap times achieved by all 3 were averaged out, the Z06 averaged more than 2 seconds faster a lap. That's a huge margin for a track like the Mazda raceway at Laguna Saga. 2) (this is for Mustang) The Z06 is in no way competition for the GT2. The Z06 is much closer when talking performance to the 911 turbo. The GT2 is very close (within 2 seconds) of the Pagani Zonda around Nurburgring. Let's be realistic, there's no way the Z06 could even hope to match a time like that.
