Hahahaha, well everybody in this forum sure has alot of car knowledge

Well ok im sorry, i added an extra e to pre-school...
I guess i should go back to pre-school.

5. Re: Why ryce?

So how about it. Anyone actually have something wrong with r|ce that they can back up??
No car company is perfect so dont be a hypocrit.

1. Sure V8's "sound" better, but there horsepower output is equally matched by a turbo V6.. So they dont put out extra horsepower.

2. V8's do use more petrol, and put out more fuel emmisions, so they sure arent helping the envorionment

3. Normally the hype when a car has a V8 enables the company to charge way more than they should be for it.

Anyone else got any opions ???

6. Re: Why ryce?

I'm just going to point out the obvious:

a 2L inline 4 is never going to have much power without a lot of boost running through it, or having a LOT of money put into it.

FWD is never a good starting point

I can't wait to see what happens if ever this little "agreement" between the Japanese companies goes away, hopefully they'll be coming with a few faster cars

I have nothing against imports, or even r1ce for that matter. It does have its handicaps, but oh well. If you've got the money, all the more power to you

STFU n00b. You dont know what you are talking about.

In case you havent noticed, these forums are for sharing OPINIONS.

8. Re: Why ryce?

I have an opinion- YOU ARE A DUMBASS RYCER.

1. a turbo V6 does not always beat a V8. And a turbo V6 certainly doesnt beat a turbo V8- you are thinking completly wrong.

2. You are wrong. You can easily have an I4 or a V6 car that uses more petrol and puts out more fuel emmisions.

3. i dont need to say anything, because you are completly wrong. Compaines advertise power, not the engine type. You are an idiot for thinking what you do.

And i have something wrong with ryce.

and why do you put NOS stickers on your car when you dont use it? You tell about how professionals use stickers for THEIR cars. but the only problem is that THEY USE THE PRODUCTS THEY ADVERTISE

You add wings for "downforce", but the thing is that that wing is not doing you near as good as if you spent your money elsewere.

You think your exaust sounds cool- but the sad thing is that there is a motorized scooter and a ryced up civic and the sad thing is i cant tell a diffrence in sound as they go by.

You talk about how your car is "high performace" but the thing is you are the ones running 16s on the quarter mile.

you put GTs and GTRs and Type Rs on your windshield, yet you dont even know what that means- it just sounds cool to you"

i could go on and on all day, but i dont need to, because chances are if you try to defend yourself the only person you will make fun of is YOU.

"1. a turbo V6 does not always beat a V8. And a turbo V6 certainly doesnt beat a turbo V8- you are thinking completly wrong."

Please explain why a turbo V6 "certainly doesnt beat a turbo V8", and what exactly do you mean by "beat"?

"2. You are wrong. You can easily have an I4 or a V6 car that uses more petrol and puts out more fuel emmisions."

Yes, but an I4 or a V6 car can easily put out less.

"3. i dont need to say anything, because you are completly wrong. Compaines advertise power, not the engine type. You are an idiot for thinking what you do."

Not all companies advertise power, some advertise luxury, the utility of the vehicle, etc. It isn't all about power.

High performance is NOT just quarter mile times.

10. Re: Why ryce?

I HAVE AN OPINION
IF YOU CANT BACK UP YOUR OPINION
DONT TELL US IT

Oh yer, absolutely every r|cer puts GT and GTR stickers on their car coz it looks cool

So i guess the thousands of skylines out there that have GT-R on them, are on them coz it looks cool, not because it is a GT-R !!!!

And the fake NOS stickers, i mean come on, that was the most pathetic was to make fun of r|cers ive ever heard of

Got any other comments or was that all you can come up with ?

"You think your exaust sounds cool- but the sad thing is that there is a motorized scooter and a ryced up civic and the sad thing is i cant tell a diffrence in sound as they go by."

Well, im not sure whats wrong with your hearing..But when i hear a modified import drive down my street, I know about it, and I'm sure the whole street does as well.

12. Re: Why ryce?

There is nothing wrong with Jap cars, well most of them.
I like skylines and supra's but I hate Civics, they are NOT made for performance that is why the have 4 cylinder small displacement engines and are REALLY cheep to buy stock.
They are a shopping car, a run about and a joke in race paint.
I think Civics are on par with 5.7ltr V8s just pumping out just over 400bhp, although they are more advanced in a lot of ways but they are still low displacement 4 cylinders.

13. Re: Why ryce?

1. Tell me this- If you put a turbo on a V6, are you instantly racing with the "big boys"? do you get 200 horsepower at the wheels from them?

2 Yes, you are talking about stock I4s and V6s. That is because they dont produce near as much power as the V8s. With power comes worse fuel emissions. By beat- i mean performs better (ex. horsepwer, torque)

3 You totally missed the point. Companies dont say "now available with a V8 engine". They say something along the lines of "they now come with 300 horsepower" Im not debating weather they advertise about luxery or anything. Im argueing that they dont advertise on engine type.

Yes, i agree it isnt all quarter mile times. But the thing is, these ryced up honda civics arnt being bulit for anything else. They are not made for rallying, or for track.

14. Re: Why ryce?

You need to get back to the books junior.

Lets see, people have GTR badges on skylines for what reason... hmm... could it possibly be the they ACTUALLY MAKE A SKYLINE GTR????? If you own a GTR, you have the right to call it a GTR all you want.

And on NOS, its true. You probably dont even know what NOS stands for or what the real name for it is. You dont have NOS in your car, so why the #$%# are you saying you do?

15. Re: Why ryce?

NOS stands for Nitrous Oxide Systems, and its actually a brand of nitrous oxide, not the actual product. Its chemical formula is N20, ( 2 nitrogen atoms, 1 oxygen atom). It was also used as a laughing gas by dentists, but it has proven to be dangerous as some people can black out and even go into a coma from it. And no, lol, I dont have NOS in my car, but thats not a problem for me.. And i didnt have to do any research on that, thats just what i know about it.

So, buddy, glad that we got that cleared up..

About the GTR sticker argument.. Some people, will maybe buy a R32 gts-t, and try to make it look like a GTR, so putting a GTR badge or sticker would be a good way to do that.

But if i saw a Honda civic, with a GTR badge on it, i would laugh at the driver..

Got any problems with that???

16. Re: Why ryce?

I don't think he was questioning whether YOU knew what NOS was. He was just making a generalisation about cars that put NOS stickers on their car either thinking that's the actual noame of the product, or just not knowing what it is at all.

As for trying to make another variation of the skyline look like the GTSR, well I personnally think that's kinda like the above example. You're trying to make your car look like something it's not. To each his own

17. Re: Why ryce?

As for NOS- its good to know you know what it is. But i was directing it more towards people in general.

And as for the GTR badge- its the same thing. If you put a GTR badge on your car and it really isnt, dont feel bad when people make fun of you. You should be aware of what you are driving. If you drive an old piece of shit, you should reconize it as that. If you drive a Saleen S7, you have the right to call it what it is.

Like i said earlier, stickers are not always tacky. That is if you actually use the product. If you dont use a product, dont say you do. simple as that.

Anyone want to argue with me?

18. Re: Why ryce?

bump

19. Re: Why ryce?

I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU ANYMORE!!! MAN, YOU ARE SOOOOO RIGHT! CIVICS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN ECONOMY CARS. I PROPS FOR TELLING A GOOD POINT THAT I BELIEVE IN!!!

20. Re: Why ryce?

Man, dude. Now that is a one hell of a good diss. You showed that Skyline guy.

21. Re: Why ryce?

Totally agree with you.

22. Re: Why ryce?

How are civics 'on par' w/ large V8's?

23. Re: Why ryce?

Type R? They're not even sold in America, so it's a pretty safe bet that most aren't what they claim to be. Maybe they could be specially imported, but it really wouldn't be worth it (unless we're talking an nsx type-r, that would be worht importing)

24. Re: Why ryce?

There is no Honda civic GTR. There is no accord type R. I know what cars are GTRs and GTs and Type Rs. And the Honda civic (with exeption the the Type R, which isnt in the US anyway) is not any of these. People buy an old stock civic, slap new rims on it, put a fart pipe and a spoiler on it then SELF PROCLAIM it a GTR. They think it is a speed deamen, when they are running 17s on the quarter mile. You cant call a car any more than what you bought it as. If you buy a honda civic, its going to stay a honda civic, no matter how fast you make it. If you completly do an engine swap and get it running 10s on the quarter mile, it is still a honda civic. you can never change that.

25. Re: Why ryce?

There's no Civic GTR, but there's accord Type R, it's built in Europe, and many car journalists agree that its handling matches a BMW 3 series.
