why so damn slow???

1. If I'm going to pay 100k for a car (or however much it is) it better beat a #$%#in mustang GT. That's ridiculous for the 0-60... can't lie about that car being utterly beautiful however. Sweet design, homo engine.
2. Re: why so damn slow???

R U serious?? that's a 3.2 litre engine pumping out that much power.

Anyway, it has its way with the Mustang SVT Cobra, just not acceleration, and it accelerates much faster than the Mustang GT.
3. Re: why so damn slow???

Don't u #$%#in diss the honda nsx. It is a beutiful car. Which shitty car have you got?
4. Re: why so damn slow???

the NSX is rubbish by todays standard. And it looks sooo dated. A Noble M12 GTO over this anyday.
5. Re: why so damn slow???

But the NSX-R beats the Lambo Murcielago
6. Re: why so damn slow???

Actually, it is faster than the Cobra, but just slightly slower than the SVT Cobra.
7. Re: why so damn slow???

well i really dont think it is as good as everyone says, i have driven one and i must say, 5.7 seems slow its faster in real life i am sure of it. but it is overpriced poorly constructed and simply a bad choice! there is not one reason why u would want this car!!! its not all that fast, handling is good but nothing amazing, styling is ok, so what is so good about it? !
8. Re: why so damn slow???

Poorly constructed, how so? I've been in one before (didn't get to drive it ), and the construction seemed far from "poor".

They are faster than 5.7, they take 4.8 seconds to get to 100km/h.

From what I've read, the handling is phenomenal, perhaps you hadn't had much experience with MR cars before you drove it?
9. Re: why so damn slow???

Sorry but you don't have enough knowledge of the car to back up your claim. The NSX is a hand made car and one of the best engineered cars to date. The quality is superb. The legend Ayrton Senna (sp.) help design this car. I don't think he worked on this car just to make a "normal car". You get what I mean so go to another forum and diss some other car.
10. Re: why so damn slow???

Keep in mind that the NSX-R lapped nurburgring in 7:56, and ahve beaten a Lambo Murcielago.

11. Re: why so damn slow???

lol so can every other car once the Lambos tranny goes up in smoke...damn Audi.
12. Re: why so damn slow???

Oh no, it has been tested by professional race car drivers. Check out the Best Motoring Video for proof.
13. Re: why so damn slow???

Yup, this keeps up with the Murcielago
14. Re: why so damn slow???

This car has beaten the Murcielago around a track. And, this car may be "slow" to your standards, but have you ever been in a car that is capable of doing 0-60 mph in 4-6 seconds? I think it is fast enough. My dad used to have a Lexus IS200, and when he floored that, it shifted and your head was pushed back into your seat. And now my dad has a GS300, and same effect. It is fast enough. And the reason it has 290hp is because of the stupid Jap government law to limit hp. And Honda are working on a car with 400hp+, so when that comes (and it will be with dual motors, meaning very little added weight and a lot of torque, etc - I wish for a turbo, but that is not what Honda is about - but then a turbo has its pluses and negatives), this car would kick ass. Why? Lightweight (which really helps in making a car fast) and Ferrari power.
15. Re: why so damn slow???

This car can compete with almost any Ferrari or Lamborghini for much cheaper
16. Re: why so damn slow???

I bet the creator of this person has forgotten that a car's performance isn't just affected by a car's performance specs (bhp, top speed, 0-60 mph, flexibility), but also the variable factors such as drag, track surface, track temperature - list goes on....
17. Re: why so damn slow???

The creator of this person?
18. Re: why so damn slow???

Damn. You could say that I am insulting his parents (not intended). But I meant the creator of this post. I must have been thinking of one thing and typing that, or I had the wrong window. My bad.
19. Re: why so damn slow???

Haha, it's ok!
20. Re: why so damn slow???

God dannit I'm sick of people posting up stuff about the NSX when they dont know shit all about it.

ok first....
5.7 secs is correct, but this is the standard model... The top of the range NSX, the NSX-R (you know, Honda’s type R range??) does a 0-60 in 4.7 secs, and a quarter of well under 12.8. I think its unfair comparing a turbo supra with a non-turbo supra so dont do the same with the NSX.

I thank you for suggesting that the car is "utterly beautiful". This section refers to someone else in this post who suggested that the car has poor build quality. NO. These cars are hand crafted by the best engineers at Honda who, when the NSX was first being developed in 1991, had at least 10 years experience at the company. The engines are hand built and tuned by one person alone. Do you know who else does this??? AMG for the SLR. I do agree however that the interior now looks old and outdated. It was after all designed in 1990 and hasnt received a face lift besides the "R" treatment (like the recaros)

don't be fooled by the 208kw.... every damn Japanese car has 208kw but we all should know that that is the most Japanese manufacturers are allowed to advertise. first of all the car is up 200cc from the last model, but still has 208kw..I dont think so.
2 cars you all should look at.
1) the R34 Skyline GTR N1 (note the N1 version-might be the same as the NUR version but I'm not sure)has "208kw". a dyno showed it to have somewhere around 240kw(I cant remember off the top of my head) at the wheels. try an estimated 300kw at the flywheel!!! its 0-60 is the same as that of a 911 turbo. the 911 has similar weight and has about 300kw.
2) The BMW M3. is a similar capacity engine to the NSX, 3.2 litres. it has 268kw of power and 370nm of torque. I dont doubt that the M3 is more powerful than the NSX...M has produced a super engine, and the car weighs 1385kg. and does 0-60 in 4.8. With the NSX weighing about 100kg lighter and an identical 0-60 time, the power of the NSX-R must at least be more than that which is advertised.

finally (thanks to those who have read this far)
the world calls the NSX a supercar for a reason. As suggested by Tiff Needel from Top Gear, people today seem to think they can stick a big V8 in a sports chassis and earn the title "supercar". sorry but you can't. The Enzo is a supercar, the 911 turbo is a supercar. So is the Zonda, SLR, the F360 and the Murcielago. The car has to be "special", and the NSX IS a supercar. One can argue that the NSX is the least best performer of all these cars. This maybe true in terms of pure stats and 0-60 and quarter times. However these days, its how fast a car can lap a test track. The NSX-R laps a 7:56 around the Nurbering. here are some other Nurbering times
7,52 = 159 km/h 2002 Lamborghini Murcielago 570 ps, Horst von Saurma, Sport Auto 2002.
8,04 = 153 km/h Lamborghini Diablo GT, Sport Auto 2000.
8,05 = 153 km/h 2002 Ferrari 575 Maranello, Sport Auto 2002.
8,07 = 152 km/h Ferrari 550 Maranello, Sport Auto 1998/1999.
8,09 = 152 km/h Ferrari 360, Sport Auto 2000.
8,09 = 153 km/h Lamborghini Diablo SV 520 ps.
8,13 = 152 km/h Ferrari F355 380 ps.
8,18 = 149 km/h Ferrari F355 380 ps, Sport Auto

I think these times speak or themselves. Ultimately when you pay your 100k or so this is what you'll get. you get an excellent high revving engine that is well INTEGRATED with a super chassis that is both light weight and strong. It's an exotic mid-engine supercar.
21. Re: why so damn slow???

At last, a person that knows about cars! Good job!!

There is one mistake, the normal NSX does 0-60mph in 4.8 sec, as tested by car and driver, and the NSX-R does it in 4.4 sec.
22. Re: why so damn slow???

I can't wait for the NSX with twin electric motors (Honda wouldn't up the displacement, as this is will add weight and is against the NSX ethos of weight saving, and turbos are disregarded by Honda, and BMW). The next NSX, which I think is in development, should be packing plenty of more power.
23. Re: why so damn slow???

because it has a 3.2 liter V6...what a craphole of a car...
24. Re: why so damn slow???

And your trying to say that is the NSX sucks? Ignorant people like you should hide themselves
25. Re: why so damn slow???

Yea, I bet he hasn't read all the posts yet. Even he he DID read all, he's just an ignorant.
