The absolute worst idea that ever made it to production, without doubt is the Pontiac Aztec. Hey honey, lets go camping in the back of the car!
Ok, this is absolutely retarded. You morons don't ahve even HALF a clue as to what cars were good or bad. Hell, you coulnd't NAME half the American cars made in the last 30 years, much less EVER. 1) The Pinto was NOT, repeat NOT dangerous. No more so than any other car of it's era. the Exploding Pinto Myth? Just that. A MYTH, promoted by Mother Jones Magazine, but more than thoroughly disproven. And if you want to argue with me, i'v en hit you with pages upon pages of facts. 2) The Edsel didn't sell well because it was VERY poorly built. In fact, if pure safety was a concern, it was vastly less safe than any Pinto, but more importantly, it was poorly constructed, haphazardly manufactured, not well designed, and aimed at a market that would never have bought it even had the rest of it not been true. 3) but the Edsel is a mass marketing success story next to numerous other also-rans in teh American car market. While Packard wasa wel known luxury marque, by the tie the late '50s rolled around, it was the redheaded stepchild of another failing company, Studebaker, who had bought them out a few years ealier. By 1958, only 600 Packards were sold, which were just Studebaker Hawks with a few tacky fins bolted on. VERY poorly constructed, ugly, and just plain bad cars. And even so, there were worse out there before them... I have sitting in front of me a 640pgae book called "100 Years of the American Auto" that lists more cars and business stories than most people have ever heard of... Cars like the '51-55 Comet Roadster, with 6 horsepower and a 40 mph top speed. Ever see a '52 Skorpion? Not much better.
What's wrong with that? The tent would be off the ground so that it wouldn't get flooded. The vehicle has a heater/air conditioner, something most tents don't have. And, the inside of an Aztek has more room than most camping tents. Sounds like a good idea to me.
