Would you support a human mission to Mars?

  1. If NASA doesn't make this happen, then it will be up to Koenigsegg to accomplish this feat which they can do in less than 10 years

  2. absolutely, without a doubt

  3. Holy shit you don't know anything about the Catholic church.

  4. So you have nothing to add?

  5. how #$%#ing stupid can one person be?

  6. Yes. And that was a good read of all the spinoff technologies from NASA. It has convinced me that the space programs ARE worthwhile, not just to discovery but to benefiting mankind.

People landing on Mars would be awesome. It would be interesting if they tried to establish life forms like bacteria and maybe some plants on Mars and see what happens...
life is known to occur in locations you wouldnt possibly think were hospitable, so i would be totally surprised if they couldnt exist somewhere on mars.

  7. ya, it's interesting how they discovered some satellites managed to have microbes survive in them, even in the extreme conditions in orbit.

  8. Though unlikely, given the sheer amount of time/hostility of the environment, it is possible that life could have originated elsewhere then came here or spread from here to elsewhere. It'd have to survive being thrown into space by some IMMENSE impact, so it would have to survive EXTREME shock, intense heat, sudden changes of environment, the radiation/vacuum/heat/cold of space for a long time and the impact back on the foriegn body. And that's assuming that one with life that survived is lucky enough to hit a body with a survivable climate. But, it may have already happened. Perhaps it's happened many thousands of times, even.

  9. considering how hardcore I am, and how bone-bladecore McGriffin is, that's obviously the case.

and considering how softcore w00t is, i think it shows he evolved to fit his Dutchie surroundings <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/tongue.gif"></A>

  10. I think its possible. Bacteria could possibly survive a few feet below the surface of an asteroid where conditions are more hospitable and protected than the surface. The asteroid strikes the planetary surface, and over time due to weathering the asteroid's surface disolves and the bacteria can be released into the environment, and evolution begins from there.

  11. we're from the planet called Heaven, and the ruler of that planet is God, but actually if you translate it, it's Xenu, and the asteroid we travelled on as bacterial souls actually kinda resembled a DC-8, at least if you squinted real hard while drunk and looking at an x-ray of it.

  12. If we can build a shuttle that doesn't fall apart.

  13. hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

  14. i would give personal money towards a mars fund.

  15. thats very generous of you, but i fear your McDonalds salary might not be enough to sustain the space program, sadly...

  16. McDonalds will be the first corporation (besides Space agencys) on whatever planet that gets settled on, if it were to happen.

  17. I hope we find some Energon there!

  18. I hope the US puts a flag on Mars and tells Russia that we own it

  19. This will likely be a multi-nation effort and Russia will definitely be involved

  20. This thread has really opened my eyes to all the technology spin offs and shit... Viewed from that angle, you can't deny its worth every single penny put into it.

  21. NASA is badass, even if it was founded by a bunch of Nazis

  22. I call the roll of optimus!

  23. You couldn't even do a funnel of Energon !! <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/grin.gif"></A>

  24. I'd pound a whole cube, you rube.

  25. I intend to be on it.
