Wrong 0-60 time...

  1. ...the real time is lower then 4 seconds. More like 3.77.

  2. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

    Enzo 1350kg,650hp,0-60 in 3.6 seconds;
    Zonda C-12S, 1250kg, 555hp,0-60 in 3.65 seconds;
    Murcielago 1650kg,580hp,0-60 in 3.8 seconds;

    Turbo, 1600kg! 416hp! 0-60 in 3.77?
I have read ao many mags,4.1 seconds is the best driver can ever achieve. (pretty good for such a heavy car in fact.)

  3. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

MotorTrend hit 0-60 in 3.9 seconds using the clutch. Without clutch shifting this car has hit 3.77 seconds.

  4. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

It's not porsche but MotorTrend do amazing things!
Remember they test GT2 and got 3.6s for 0-60,while tests by other mags only got something around 4.1s!
    Frankly,i don't believe them(MotorTrend).

  5. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

Other mags used brand new GT2's and if you get the tires hot enough it will hit 3.6. Road and Track has made the GT2 hit 0-60 in 3.6 seconds so I don't know what you are talking about but MotorTrend and Road Track both are great magazines and I believe both. BTW tell me a mag that tested the GT2 in around 4.1 seconds. You said that the fastest the Turbo hit was 4.1 and you were wrong there and now you say that the GT2 can hit 0-60 in 4.1 seconds and I proved you wrong again. Get your facts right.

    Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

    ok,I know what i'm saying!

    http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/roadtests/roadtest/46926/article.html
"Once within the safe confines of our test track, we fire up the instruments and make sure that the Turbo is as fast as it feels. And it is. Zero-to-60 mph takes 4.2 seconds and the quarter-mile whizzes by in 12.7 seconds. "

    http://www.geocities.com/hanco4/cars2/porsche.htm
"With power characteristics of a far larger engine, the 911 Turbo can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.2 seconds. On the test track, the 911 Turbo will sprint from a standstill to 100 mph (160 km/h) in only 9.2 seconds"

    http://www.mpt.org/motorweek/reviews/rt2001.shtml
"With so much engine and traction-technology, a 0-to-60 time of 4.1-seconds comes as no surprise. Nor does the 1/4 mile at 12.6 seconds and 112 miles-per-hour. Top speed is 189 miles per hour. At launch, the smooth bottom end feel from the effective all-wheel drive power distribution is deceptive. But, the engine's massive midrange punch leaves no doubt that this is a supercar even among 911 Turbos. "

    end of the topic.

I don't know but I'd rather believe Road and Track and Motortrend because both those companies are well known and all there tests are shown on television.

  9. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

I have some times of belgian magazines and the fastest they recorded is between 4.5 (rather slow, I think) and 4.1 seconds. 3.77 is really to fast.

  10. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

Magazines tend to test cars using the Clutch...I agree using the Clutch is around 3.9-4.1 but without it can hit 3.77 on a good day.

  11. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

Dropping the clutch at 4000 rpm slams the breech closed on a ballistic launch. The rears spin just a little, shuddering as they slip-stick-slip-stick on the edge of adhesion for the first 50 feet. Then they grip like paint. With boost to the max and a heathen howl, the Turbo easily hits 60 in second gear in 3.9 seconds. Halfway through fourth, it burns past the quarter-mile mark in 12.3 seconds at 116 mph.

Car and Driver always seems to be the best at the acceleration tests.

    Someone with knowledge!

  13. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

In a Magazine I have it hit 100kph in 4.3 secnds but it could probably do better cos i saw a video where it does 400m in 12.4

    must be a better driver

  14. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

Yeah I agree with you. It depends on the driver and the gearing.

  15. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

I'm just telling you what I heard and read in magazines man.

  16. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

Times vary, and this site uses times that are incorrest lots of the time, so never trust the specs on this site, sorry,

  17. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

    no

  18. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

  19. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

HAha u fool!It is never 4 seconds! It needs about 4,5 seconds!I was driving in one a few weeks ago!Nice car but never 4.0 secs!

  20. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

    Just ridiculous!

  21. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

Go read any Motortrend or R&T and look at the specs where it says:

    911 Turbo 0-60 in 3.9

  22. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

I saw a Porsche on TV hit 0-60 mph in just 3.78s

  23. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

How do you know? You morons also forget that this car is AWD what helps acceleration...

  24. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

i can believe a 3.77, and a 3.9 for sure. another thing is you have to factor in the weight distribution on a car like this. is roughly 33/66 meaning lots of grip. also the PSM system helps to not spin the wheels

  25. Re: Wrong 0-60 time...

You guys are crazy I know cars are your life but arguing over less than a second of time????
