The difference is this: I know I can be wrong. At least I can acknowledge it. You on the other hand...obviously not.

When you're wrong about something, just come right out and admit it. Don't start scrounging around for excuses, like "perhaps they released an ET of 5.9, and then an official time of 5.8."

WTF is that supposed to mean anyway? An "ET" of 5.9? And then an official time (yet to be seen from a Dodge website) of 5.8? When are you going to start making sense?

2. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

I have it right here in front of me in an SCC magazine, so unless they made a mistake, Dodge's official released time is 5.8.

By "ET" I meant that perhaps they ESTIMATED the 0-60 time and released that before they tested the car and released an official time of 5.8.

BTW - Did you admit you were wrong when I showed you the source showing the WRX doing 0-60 in 5.4? No, you just meekly claimed that was a "one-off", which I know to be wrong as I've seen the same time from other sources.

When I'm wrong, I'll admit it. There is, in fact, one instance in which I've been wrong (at least partially wrong), you did post ONE source of an SRT-4 doing the 1/4 in less than 14.2, but at 14.1, it was still no faster than a WRX, just able to keep up.

Anyway, as for holding to my word, don't post something inflammatory, and I'll be able to resist the temptation to respond.

Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

I already showed you where the SRT-4 has done the quarter mile in less than 14.1 seconds. It’s right here:
http://web.tampabay.rr.com/blackcat/images/timeslips.bmp

Sport Compact Car, huh? How come in this article, they say themselves that Dodge claimed 5.9 seconds, yet in their own testing, they got 5.8?
“We even shook off the claim that the turbocharged 2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4 would be the quickest car you could buy in America for less than $20,000, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. No way, we thought.
Turns out we were right about being wrong. Dead wrong. Dodge does get it, but the SRT-4 does not accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. It does it in 5.8 seconds. That's right, 5.8 seconds.”

The *official* time from the Dodge website is *still* 5.9. Where's this claim of 5.8 seconds that you keep referring to? It's not even in the source you claim it would be (SCC). In fact, your source refutes what you've said.

More cases where the WRX hits 60 in 5.4? Sources please! You've also said the WRX gets to 100 mph faster. Where is this?

Inflammatory? Let me guess, this is your way of *complimenting* me?:

“Must be nice to be unaware of reality.”

“No, I give apologies to someone who deserves it, not to someone who tries to come off so self righteous, but is really just a weak person inside.”

"I don't provide evidence for @$$holes"

I’ve tried being nice with you. I’ve tried reasoning with you. That time is over.

According to the May Car & Driver, the SRT-4 reaches 60 mph in 5.6 sec.

5. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

LOL

6. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

It amazes me just how many people are hung up on 0-60mph times although I have come to expect that from "some" people.

Like someone mentioned before, who really gives a cr@p if a car is a tenth of a second quicker to 60mph?

A new WRX can hit 60mph from a standstill in 5.5secs yet in other tests it's managed it in 5.9secs, so bloody what!

And as for arguing over 1/4 mile times concerning cars like the WRX, well that's pathetic IMO, that's just not what cars like the WRX are about.

7. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

Care to clarify who these "'some' people" are, Brit Cars? Same as the "'some' people" in the TVR thread from a few days ago?

Anyway, the point still stands. PasswordPlease is seriously misinformed in his numbers. That is the key issue here. NOT the relevance of 0-60 times.

8. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

Would I care to clarify who these "some" people are?

No, they know perfectly well who they are.

"NOT the relevance of 0-60 times"

One word..............."b*llocks!"

By just quickly reading this thread it's clear to see that the argument is over tenths of seconds to 60mph & the 1/4 mile, and as for "PasswordPlease is seriously misinformed in his numbers", he's "claiming" a 0-60mph time for the WRX of 5.4secs where without even searching I have one here for 5.5secs........oooh a tenth of a second quicker than the Neon and a tenth slower than he stated...........run for the hills, a tenth makes all the blóódy difference doesn't it?

9. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

Brit Cars, you seriously need to brush up on your reading comprehension. I will ask you a simple question, to keep things simple so we don't go off on all sorts of tangents at the moment.

First Question
Who, in this very thread (on the previous page), uttered the words:
"I never said the SRT-4 is a WRX-killer to 60. Have you not been paying attention at all? I said there's very little difference between them (remember my streetlight to streetlight, block to block racing analogy?)."
?

10. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

Just like the good ol' time eh?

Anyway, I've been here before & bought the t-shirt, I'll leave you to put the "new breed" in their place

11. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

Some cars might have a 0-60 time that is most likely nice but around the track they cant turn for shit

12. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

True but the Impreza is a great track car

13. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

True for it's price of course

16. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

MWB will never be silenced!!!

So few people at this site have anything good to say; could you even imagine it without me?

17. Re: Your silence speaks volumes Guibo.

MWB1, are you MWB ?
I'm surprised that in an industrial society some people can Ban someone to shut him off...

Guibo, is powerless, he's using his time to sh*t on other guys...
(I'm saying that if I understood good your history mwb..I hope I did)

Am I dreaming ? Is the topic changing subject ?
