Today Gary Paffett drove his HWA Thomas Sabo Mercedes AMG C-Coupé to win the DTM season opener at Hockenheim. He was followed by a similar Mercedes driven by Jamie Green.
An enthusiastic Mattias Ekström placed third in his Audi after not being able to translate his pole position into an overall victory.

After a 20 year hiatus from DTM, BMW will return to face the best from Mercedes-Benz and Audi at Hockenheim tomorrow. This opens a new chapter in BMW Motorsport's history which has traditionally been very successful
The original E30 M3 debuted at the opening round of the 1987 World Touring Car Championship which BMW eventually won. This was followed by a string of success in DTM, rally and touring car races around the world which made the M3 one of the most successful touring cars of all time.
Tomorrow's DTM season opener will feature six M3s from BMW Team RMG, BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW Team RBM. Many eyes will be on the Joey Hand's racing debut in the series.
Today we have prepared a gallery from the Auto China 2012 also known as the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. For many the highlight was the new Lamborghini SUV called the Urus.
As we mentioned earlier many of the top brands brought out new executive-class cars which reflects the busniess shift to China over the last decade.

To celebrate The Year of the Dragon on the Chinese zodiac calendar, Bugatti revealed the ‘Wei Long 2012’ at Auto China 2012.
This one-of model features porcelain inserts in the wheels and fuel cap similar to the ‘L'Or Blanc’ from 2011. The largest insert depicts a traditional dragon and is fitted in between the seats on the bulkhead.
Aston Martin also celebrated a similar cause with their 'Dragon 88' versions of the Virage and V8 Vantage. As a counterpoint to both the Bugatti and Astons, Ferrari have the 20th Anniversary Edition 458 which celebrates both the The Year of the Dragon and Ferrari's 20th year in China.
Today many luxury brands are making debuts at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing, China. Our feature car is the Jaguar XJL Ultimate which has upgrades both in and out to Jaguar's top saloon.
Rolls-Royce have brought two new models to Beijing: the Extended Wheelbase Phantom Series II and a highly appointed Ghost concept car called the Six Senses.
On the more sporty side Aston Martin have prepared the a Dragon 88 series of cars which celebrates the Year of the Dragon. Mercedes also have the Concept Style Coupé and BMW finally brought out their BMW i8 Concept Spyder.
At the end of 5 days and 2000 km of driving, the AC Cobra of Shaun Lynn and Kevin Kivlochan won the 2012 Tour Auto Optic 2000 outright.
Among 230 other cars, they raced through some of the best areas of southern France towards their final destination at Nice.

In honor of Queen Elizabeth II's diamond jubilee, Bentley have announced 60 special-edition Mulsannes.
Included with the package is a distinct variety of two-tone color combinations for the interior and exterior. The cars are easily identified by their pinstriping along the beltline and a small Bentley badge on the C-pillar.
The Diamond Jubilee Mulsannes will be first previewed at the Auto China 2012 which opens in two days.

Some of the rare supercars on the streets today included the GTA Spano, Roding Roadster, Mansory Stallone, Noble M600 and the Hamann Hawk Roadster which was properly setup on the shoreline.

For 2012 the event features nothing but specialist manufactures we all know and love like Pagani, Koenigsegg, Hamann, Manosry and Gemballa. Some of the new players in the market included Rimac, Soleil Anadi, Roding and Tushek.

With the first leg of the Tour Auto completed in France we can present a preview of what's to come in the next four days.
Starting in Le Grand Palais, Paris the numerous entrants will be travelling down to Nice over a five day period. Main stops along the way include Dijon, Paul Ricard and the Circuit de Bresse and the Pôle Mécanique d'Alès.

Rimac Automobili will present the Concept_One at the upcoming top Marques Monaco which begins this Thursday. That's when they will start take orders on their all-electric supercar which can accellerate from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.
We expect to see heavyweights such as Hamann, Gemballa, Marussia, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Ferrari, and McLaren among many more supercar manufacturers at this year's show.

This weekend the season opener of the Blancpain Endurance Series ended at Monza with a win for Bas Leinders, Markus Palttala and Maxime Martin in their Marc VDS Racing Team BMW Z4 GT3.
Despite the rain, this series managed to attract a record number of 57 GT3-class cars in one race. Included were 10 newly-delivered Mclaren MP4s.
Among the five other races to be held this year, the Endurance Series Calendar will also include the famous 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps at the end of July.
Citroën is revealing the Numéro 9, an homage to the legendary DS line that started with the original 1955 Citroën DS19.
Specifically, Citroën will show the new 'DS9' prototype at Auto China 2012 on April 23rd in anticipation of the expanded DS range which will include an executive saloon.
With an apparent focus on style and emotion, the new prototype is a plug-in hybrid and also has a very efficient coefficient of drag. How much of this will translate to the production DS9 isn't known.
Today Stephane Ortelli and Laurens Vanthoor won the first round of the FIA GT1 World Championship for the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT in Nogaro, France.
This marks the first major victory for the 2012 Audi R8 LMS ultra and also the first running of the GT1 Championship with GT3-spec cars. Similar cars will race in the Blancpain Endurance Series, VLN, ADAC GT and International GT Open this year.
If Nogaro is any indication, then the All-Inkl Mercedes, AF Corse Ferraris and Reiter Lamborghinis will also be in contention for victories in 2012. You can see all the teams in our feature gallery.
Today we can present a feature gallery of all the debuting cars from this year's New York International Auto Show (NYIAS).
The new Viper took center stage, but other cars such as the Fisker Atlantic Design Prototype, BMW M6 Cabriolet and Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG also made their worldwide debut.
Non-supercar releases included the new Chevrolet Impala, Buick Enclave, Lincoln MKZ and Nissan Altima.
Today Chrysler revealed their next generation Viper GTS and its race-ready counterpart known as the GTS-R at the NYIAS.
Both cars keep to the traditional Viper formula with a 640 bhp normally aspirated V10 that feeds the rear wheels. For the new model SRT has paid special attention to the interior which is uprated with Sabelt seats surrounded by a modern design. In profile, this coupe still mimics the original 1997 Dodge Viper GTS.
We can't wait to see where John Hennessey takes this platform or how well it contends with the Corvettes, Porsches, BMWs and Ferraris in the GT2 class.
Last weekend the ADAC GT Masters series was at Oschersleben for the first two races of their season.
Complying to GT3 regulations, this sprint series is likely the best national GT championship. It is also one of the reasons why the GT3 Corvettes, Lamborghinis and Camaros all come from Germany.
Oschersleben's races were notable for the debut of the Sareni Camaro GT and Audi R8 LMS ultra. Christer Jöns set pole position in the new Audi, but lost his position on turn one due to a collision and subsequent pit stop.
This weekend ADAC hosted the first round of the VLN Nürburgring endurance series known as the 59. ADAC Westfalenfahrt. It was won outright by BMW Team Schubert among an impressive field of Porsches, Mercedes and Audis.
The Westfalenfahrt was notable for the first appearance of the customer MP4-12C GT3 from Dörr Motorsport and the 2012-version of the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus P4/5 C.
In many ways this was this the first of three practice rounds for the upcoming 24-Hours of Nürburgring in mid-May known as the ADAC Zurich 24h Rennen.
