Introduced in 2018, Ferrari’s Icona Series pays tribute to the brand’s racing heritage with limited-production models for top clients. The first models, the Monza SP1 and SP2, featured barchetta styling inspired by 1950s racers and paired a front-mounted V-12 with rear-wheel drive. In 2021, Ferrari added the Daytona SP3, the first closed-body Icona, echoing the design of 1960s endurance cars like the 330 P3/4. Powered by a 6.5-liter mid-mounted V-12 with 829 horsepower and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the SP3 achieves 0–100 km/h in 2.85 seconds.
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 was originally limited to just 599 production units, each pre-sold to Ferrari’s top-tier clients. However, there was an additional chassis added to the limited production run, and this example, 599+1, will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s next month with an estimated value of $3,500,000.
This one-of-a-kind example was added to the exclusive lineup with bespoke features created by Ferrari’s Tailor Made program. Finished in a striking combination of exposed carbon fiber and Giallo Modena, it features Ferrari’s first-ever full-length logotype livery across a road car. Black carbon-composite elements on the front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser heighten its aggressive presence, complemented by the 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged diamond rims with Giallo Modena calipers.
Inside, the SP3 features innovative recycled tire-based upholstery, yellow seatbelts, and Prancing Horse headrest embroidery. A unique checkered carbon fiber motif decorates the instrument binnacle and steering column, referencing Ferrari’s F1 heritage. The Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel includes F1-style paddle shifters and standard-color stitching. A silver plaque marks its singular “599+1” designation.
This final SP3 is being sold to benefit The Ferrari Foundation’s educational initiatives, including a partnership with Save the Children to rebuild a fire-damaged school in California. The SP3 is offered with special accessories, including the Maranello Clutch, Ferrari window sticker, manuals, tool kit, and car cover.
