FOR SALE: 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss

One of just 75 examples produced

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss made its debut at the 2009 North American International Auto Show as a stripped-down, high-performance speedster that dazzles both in speed and style. Limited to just 75 units and reserved for existing SLR owners, it serves as a contemporary tribute to the legendary 300 SLR driven by Stirling Moss to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia.

Based on the SLR 722 Edition, it features carbon-fiber bodywork overseen by designer Yoon II-hun.ย A hand-built, supercharged 5.4-liter SLR AMG V8 launches the car to 60 mph in about three seconds and to a top speed of 217 mph. Drawing inspiration from the original 300 SLR, the Stirling Moss edition features a dramatic open-cockpit design with no roof, windows, or windscreen. Its lightweight carbon-fiber body has an elongated silhouette, dual rear fairings, and signature twin side-exit titanium exhausts.

This example now offered for sale on PCARMARKET shows only 643 miles. It is finished in Antimony Grey Crystal with silver brake calipers and 19-inch lightweight multispoke alloys. The model is further distinguished by exclusive front and rear fascias, a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, exposed carbon-fiber side coves, large hood vents, and a manually adjustable air brake that tilts up to 35 degrees for added downforce.

The interior is trimmed in black leather with white contrast stitching, complemented by extensive carbon fiber and aluminum accents. Features include one-piece bucket seats, analog gauges, aluminum pedals, and a leather and Alcantara steering wheel. Stirling Mossโ€™s engraved signature is set into the aluminum trim behind the shifter.

The supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired to the rear wheels via a 5-speed AMG Speedshift automatic produces 641 horsepower and 605 lb-ft of torque. The suspension uses aluminum double wishbones, coil springs, and Koni dampers in aluminum shells, tuned with 15% stiffer springs for sharper steering. Stopping comes from carbon-ceramic brakes paired with the Sensotronic Brake Control brake-by-wire system.
