The Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet Reimagined by Singer is the latest open-top creation from California’s revered 911 specialist, Singer Vehicle Design. Limited to just 75 commissions, it reinterprets the wide-body, naturally aspirated Carrera Cabriolets of the 1980s for the modern era.
Based on the air-cooled Type 964, each car begins with an owner-supplied donor that is completely stripped back to its steel monocoque. The chassis is strengthened with composite and steel reinforcements to improve torsional rigidity before being clothed in lightweight carbon-fiber bodywork inspired by the Turbo-look cars of the G-model era. A newly developed lightweight “Z-pattern” folding roof mechanism preserves a clean profile whether raised or lowered, while buyers can choose between a fixed rear wing, a speed-activated unit, or a clean decklid.
At the heart of the car is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six developed with Cosworth. Producing 420 hp and revving beyond 8,000 rpm, it marks several firsts for Singer: variable valve timing, four-valve cylinder heads, and water-cooled cylinder heads paired with air-cooled cylinders. A titanium exhaust amplifies the signature flat-six soundtrack, while a six-speed manual gearbox sends power exclusively to the rear wheels.
Underneath, the upgraded 964 platform features four-way adjustable dampers with electronic control, a nose-lift system, optional carbon-ceramic brakes, and 18-inch center-lock wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. Drivers can select from five drive modes to tailor traction and stability settings.
Inside, Singer’s trademark craftsmanship continues with hand-built gauges, stitched and burnished leather seams, and fully bespoke material choices, from touring-focused comfort to lightweight track-ready specifications. Pricing depends on configuration, with every example built to its owner’s exact vision.
