FOR SALE: 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider 16M

One of only 499 examples produced

Few modern Ferraris embody the brand’s racing DNA quite like the legendary Ferrari F430 Scuderia Spider 16M. Created to celebrate Ferrari’s 16th Formula One Constructors’ Championship victory in 2008, the ultra-exclusive open-top supercar stands as a tribute to the marque’s relentless pursuit of motorsport excellence.

Limited to just 499 examples worldwide and introduced in 2009, the 16M combined race-inspired engineering with the thrill of open-air performance, quickly becoming one of the most desirable special-edition Ferraris of its era.

Derived from the track-focused F430 Scuderia, the Spider 16M elevated Ferrari’s formula by combining breathtaking performance with the exhilaration of open-air driving. At its core lies a revised 4.3-liter F136 V8, enhanced with redesigned pistons, a higher compression ratio, and upgraded intake and exhaust systems.

Producing a factory-rated 503 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated powerhouse delivers razor-sharp throttle response and a spine-tingling soundtrack. Paired with Ferrari’s lightning-fast F1-SuperFast2 six-speed automated transaxle and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, the 16M channels power exclusively to the rear wheels with remarkable precision.

Despite additional chassis reinforcement for the open-body configuration, Ferrari engineers aggressively reduced weight through the use of lightweight bumper covers, forged alloy wheels, titanium fasteners, and extensive carbon-fiber components. The result was a car capable of posting record lap times at Ferrari’s Fiorano test circuit while maintaining exceptional balance and responsiveness.

Currently listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, this particular 2009 example is finished in Nero with gray racing stripes and a matching black soft top. Carbon-fiber accents appear throughout the exterior, including the front fin, mirror caps, rear diffuser, and grille surround. Inside, the cabin features carbon-backed sport seats upholstered in Nero Alcantara with red stitching, exposed aluminum flooring, and extensive carbon-fiber trim.

Additional highlights include carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes, titanium suspension springs, Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, xenon headlights, and Ferrari’s signature racing-inspired cockpit layout. Combining rarity, motorsport pedigree, and visceral performance, the 430 Scuderia Spider 16M remains one of Ferrari’s most memorable modern roadsters.
