Listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 2020 Ford GT ’69 Heritage Edition represents a direct link between Ford’s Le Mans legacy and its modern interpretation of the mid-engine supercar. Limited to just 50 examples, the special edition commemorates the GT40 Mk I that secured Ford’s fourth consecutive overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1969.
Ford’s modern GT program traces its roots to the company’s determination to defeat Ferrari at Le Mans after its failed attempt to acquire the Italian marque. The original GT40 delivered that objective with four consecutive victories from 1966 through 1969. Decades later, Ford revived the nameplate with a 2005 GT before introducing a radically more sophisticated successor at the 2015 North American International Auto Show.
Built by Multimatic in Markham, Ontario, the second-generation GT combines a carbon-fiber monocoque with aluminum front and rear subframes. Its carbon-fiber bodywork incorporates carefully engineered aerodynamic channels, while a hydraulically controlled pushrod suspension provides variable ride height and electronically managed active aerodynamics. A retractable rear wing, front-axle lift system, selectable driving modes, and launch control further emphasize its competition-derived engineering.
Power comes from a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, factory rated at 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque in this 2020 example. The engine features a carbon-fiber cover and is paired with a Getrag 7DCL750 seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle driving the rear wheels. An Akrapovič titanium exhaust system further reduces weight, while Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers clamp carbon-ceramic discs measuring 15.5 and 14.1 inches, respectively.
Finished in Heritage Blue with Competition Orange stripes and Heritage Roundel Graphics, this GT carries the optional $20,000 Heritage Roundel Graphics Package. Additional equipment includes 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, Michelin tires, carbon-fiber trim, butterfly doors, Sparco seats, six-point harness anchors, and exposed carbon fiber throughout the cabin.
The interior combines black leather and Alcantara with a fixed-position carbon-fiber driver’s seat, adjustable pedals and steering column, LED shift lights, paddle shifters, and a configurable digital instrument display.
