Clad in striking Argento Nürburgring paintwork accented by the exclusive Piloti Ferrari racing livery, this 2020 Ferrari 488 Pista ‘Piloti Ferrari’ represents one of the most coveted and limited-production variants of Ferrari’s track-focused supercar. Reserved exclusively for Ferrari’s client racing drivers, the Piloti Ferrari edition was created to celebrate the marque’s modern GT racing achievements, making it significantly rarer than the standard 488 Pista.
Developed to commemorate Ferrari’s success at the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Piloti Ferrari was conceived through the marque’s Tailor Made program for enthusiasts who take their passion beyond public roads and onto the racetrack. Distinguished by its competition-inspired Italian tricolor livery, carbon-fiber aerodynamic elements, and race-derived design cues, the special edition was never offered to the general public.
Instead, eligibility was limited to customers actively involved in Ferrari’s official motorsport programs. Beneath its bespoke exterior remains the formidable 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 producing 710 horsepower, while a host of exclusive finishes and customization details set it apart from conventional 488 Pista models.
Offered by RM Sotheby’s on June 17 with an estimate of up to $900,000, this exceptionally specified example has covered fewer than 8,000 kilometers from new and has had just two owners since its original delivery in Austria in March 2020. The car features an extensive list of factory options, highlighted by the highly sought-after carbon-fiber wheels—the first such wheels ever offered on a Ferrari road car. Additional carbon-fiber components include the front flaps, side air splitters, engine covers, rear diffuser, air vents, door trim, and rear molding, further enhancing both performance and visual appeal.
