A remarkably preserved 2010 Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SV will cross the block at RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction on August 15 with an estimated value of up to $2.25 million. Representing one of the most elusive examples of Lamborghini’s celebrated Super Veloce flagship, the car is making its first-ever public appearance after remaining in single ownership since new.
Introduced as the ultimate evolution of the Murciélago, the LP 670-4 SV debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show and elevated Lamborghini’s V12 flagship to new performance heights. Engineers reduced weight by approximately 220 pounds through extensive carbon-fiber construction and a lighter exhaust system, while revisions to the intake and engine timing increased the output of the naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 to 670 horsepower. Combined with a six-speed automated manual transmission, all-wheel drive, and carbon-ceramic brakes, the SV delivered blistering performance, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in roughly three seconds before reaching a top speed of 212 mph.
Although Lamborghini originally planned to build 350 examples, market conditions during the global financial crisis significantly reduced production, with experts estimating that only about 165 cars were ultimately completed. This has made the Murciélago LP 670-4 SV one of the rarest modern Lamborghinis.
This particular U.S.-market example is especially desirable thanks to its factory specification. Finished in Nero Aldebaran, it is believed to be one of only eight American-delivered SVs painted in the striking black exterior color. Even rarer, it is thought to be one of just three U.S. examples equipped with the understated low-profile rear wing instead of the larger Aeropack wing, giving the car a cleaner, more purposeful appearance.
The cabin continues the bespoke theme with a predominantly black Alcantara interior accented by vivid yellow contrast stitching and exclusive Ad Personam details, including a perforated leather steering wheel. Showing just 791 miles at the time of cataloguing, this LP 670-4 SV has been exceptionally well cared for, retaining its original paintwork and factory tires while recently benefiting from a comprehensive service. It is offered complete with its original books, tools, documentation, and window sticker.
With its one-owner history, ultra-low mileage, exceptionally rare specification, and first public offering, this Murciélago LP 670-4 SV stands as one of the most significant surviving examples of Lamborghini’s iconic V12 supercar and is expected to attract intense interest from collectors worldwide.
