WOW, that makes me feel better about my pitiful 290 HP and 390 lb. ft. pull on a Mustang Dyno.
same thing with my uncles car, dynod at 398hp but he runs low 10's at near 130mph
First thing I'd say is maybe he has high gears...but then you say 130mph...so that takes it out of perspective <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/pitlane/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>
How light is his car?
Did he run it on MustangDyno?
its a 71 firebird. with him in it i think he said its around 3500lbs. 455 non hd with a 250shot of N2O. but the block and heads are stock i think he said. no porting or sportsman block and he claims heads are the weak part on old pontiacs. hes got a transbrake, linelock and a manual valvebody. i think he said his gas is hooked up to come on at 3800 only at WOT. he took me for a ride and stopped in the middle of the highway to nail it. was damn fun, then his neighbors called the police and complained about the noise.
he said his friend owns a dyno (him and my aunt are millionaires) and as a hobby he takes peoples cars and test n tunes em. maybe the dyno was set up wrong.
if he was just about topping out at 130 mph, hed still have decently high gears.
Correct...but his HP would be higher than it is if it traps those speeds...that's why I said that.
true, id expect at least 90 hp more.
last time i was down there we replaced all the hoses and filters for his nitrous system. the one he had on it was something like 1/16th" and he thinks restrictive because out of his 250shot he was only getting something like 60hp. the new line we ran was 1/8th" but i dont think since june hes had time to take it out to the track again. poor guy works 80 hours a week.
