1000TT?!?!??!?!

ok, the 800tt on street tires did 0-60 in 3.21seconds, but that's only .1 second quicker to 60 than the 650R which did 3.3 to 60 on street tires.

now, the 800 does the 1/4mile in 9.99 and the 1000 is only .14 seconds faster.

Here's 3 cars all with the same problem, one with more HP is not much faster than the other, in 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile.

  2. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

well 2 all those ppl who judge this car by it's stats...
lay off 'cause like judgein' a book buy it's cover!

  3. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

Right, keep in mind though that the 650R was tested on a different date, perhaps even at a different track. Only way to gauge the two is to test them side by side on the same day at the same place with the same driver.
With higher and higher hp Vipers, we're not going to see vastly quicker 0-60's and 1/4 miles. The fact that the current known ET record among Vipers is 9.48 seconds set by the RSI Viper with only about 700-750 hp tells you that driver skill, conditions, and other variables can play a huge role in ET's. Perhaps traction (particularly as it relates to good 60' times) is the biggest issue with Vipers at this hp level.
The main difference in higher hp Vipers is going to be evident in trap speeds. Yes, the 1000TT was only marginally faster, the .14 seconds you stated. But, here are some things to keep in mind:
    1) The 800TT benefitted from numerous dyno and quarter mile runs. Hennessey was able to dial it in fairly well (his best actually occurred some months after the MT article was published, a 9.92 @ 150 mph).
    2) The only known times for the 1000TT were done just very recently. This was the first serious dragstrip session (it ran kinda half-heartedly under semi-damp conditions at VOI 7).
    3) Even though this was the 1000TT's first serious run, it has already beaten the 800TT's best trap speed by 6 mph, and is 17 mph clear of the 800TT's trap speed from that MT article. That's a pretty good margin, and I'd be amazed if even quicker ET's and faster traps aren't in store for the 1000TT with some finer tuning.

Oh, BTW, the 650R is Hennessey's club-racing modified Viper. Runs w/o cats and is shod with Hoosier S03's (designed for roadracing). While these tires are lightly treaded and DOT-approved, they still offer more grip than the stock Michelin Pilots that the 800TT had when it did 0-60 in 3.21. Something to keep in mind. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

BTW, LaCosaNostra, this is the thread you ripped off.

  6. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

Well why do you hate Vipers but your name is US cars rule?

Anyway, maybe the reason why the 1000TT is only a little bit faster is because of wheelspin?

  7. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

maybe he thinks that just the Z06, which is american is good. or maybe he didn't dislike vipers when he made his screen name.

  8. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

I really want this car to go into production because it looks like the continuation of the GTS. And with 1275HP it's guaranteed to give the buggati 16/4 Veyron some competition.

  9. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

Actually it's 1175hp. But i agree, not only would it give the Veyron a run for the money, but most supercars.

    Veyron-$800,000
    0-60(est.): 3.0seconds

    1000TT-around $175,000
    0-60(est.): 2.2seconds

  10. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

The 800tt was estimated at 135, so I would guess maybe close 145.

  11. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

    were u in a hurry typing that?? <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A> LOL 135mph?? (235mph)

the 1000TT is estimated at 240 mph.

  12. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

i don't know to many details but the SVS viper ran 177mph in the 1/4

  13. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

LOL missed that one. Damn I've got to start working shorter days. Replace all the 1s with 2s and you've got it<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  14. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

As long as its a looks like a viper, smells like a Viper, and can fly just as fast as a Viper. i like it!

  15. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

The lingenfelter 427tt is still faster for some reason and this even has 300 more hp.

  16. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

Keep in mind that the 427tt weighs around 200lbs less, plus those specs are estimated, except for the 1/4 mile time, which was achieved after the car had been driven for three hours to get to the track. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  17. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

"which was achieved after the car had been driven for three hours to get to the track"

does that really make a difference...?

  18. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

Well, the engine would already be hot, so the air in the engine bay wouldn't be as cold (colder makes more power or course)
Also the tires would be hot as well, and more worn.

  19. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

Worn or bald tires = better grip?

  20. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

    No tyres = No grip!

  21. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

Well, you could have some grip without tires (riding on the rims, lol) <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>

  22. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

    No it has less traction.

  23. Re: 1000TT?!?!??!?!

hmmm...ok how just the axel...no wait no axel...no engine...
Were's the car gonna go now HA!!!
