Tis good. But expensive.
all i can remember is your old username was csl, and you worked at an airport. o'hare?
I've been really enjoying Pyramid's new IPL.
and he had a thumb face
Like it when breweries have a bit of a funny side.
Hate how expensive beer is here ;_;
Please enlighten me as to what an IPL is.
India Pale Lager. Basically, think a lager base that's hopped like an IPA. In principle, you can do this with just about any ale style. "Russian Imperial Lager" or whatever.
Wouldn't it then just come out like an IPA with less flavor though? I guess some people want that.
stop giving it fancy names. its just beer ffs.
Not necessarily less flavor, but generally a lighter, drier body. I liken the average IPL more to a hoppy pale (aka session IPA) than to a traditional IPA.
I've been really I to drinking cider lately, but stuff that is a lot drier than your average cider. I don't think it would be very widely available but here I can get some made by far from the tree and it is very dry. Barely sweet at all. And another local cider maker Bantam makes a dry cider that is delicious
You could apply that logic to literally everything that is categorized by type/style.
There's a huge cider scene back here in NZ, and I have to admit since being back I've been enjoying it as a nice change.
It's coming along here, too. Seems to be following in the footsteps of craft beer here. A few years ago all that was available was a few ciders made mostly by the same big three brewers as beer was three decades ago, but now there's tons of stuff from all sorts of makers. Stuff aged in barrels. Low-alcohol super dry stuff. 15+% abv sippers. Wild yeasts, you name it, there's something for everyone. It's still not half as big as beer is, but it's getting there.
I saw a citra hopped cider recently. Kinda want to try it.
A lot of the craft beer brewers here do at least 1 cider too.
And hopped ciders are great.
Thanks to my dad, my collection of NG R&Ds continues. Yay for me.
SO wanted to go to that <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>((
had way too many kronenbourg yesterday. hadn't had one in a while
More bottles and it seems like people aren't liking it QUITE as much as VSB (though, Dan said it isn't ready yet, just as VSB wasn't), but people still went crazy getting it. My dad went yesterday but bailed when he saw the line. He thought they had less of it than they did, though, or he said he probably would've stuck around. Today he was hardcore and was the 40th person in line, I guess. Feel kind of bad having him waiting in line for me, but he said he enjoyed it last time. Hopefully it wasn't bad this time, either.
I still have at least one of every R&D, plus the other two 500ml releases... Bet I could land something pretty crazy if I wanted to trade this, haha...

Have you had any of Zeffer's ciders? They're just starting distribution here, and we're going to be featuring them at work next month. I haven't had a chance to try any of their stuff yet.
