I prefer the Camaro because they are a tad cheaper and they don't have the pop out head lights that can break in time. Also they are more of a sleeper car too compared to the Firebird.<!-- Signature -->

I'm a Camaro guy. I like the interior a little better, and plus the "SS" name has more clout in the industry. Although they have the same engine, suspension, etc. I like the way Chevy designed the interior. Both fine cars, both fast as hell.<!-- Signature -->

I'm more of a firebird guy when it comes to those two cars. It might have the same engine, but they are a bit faster, and imo way better looking. They are so badass with that ram-air hood.

I think the SS hood is more old school and gives it the traditional muscle car look <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif"><!-- Signature -->

I like firebirds more because they have more agressive looks than camaros.<!-- Signature -->

You don't think we could tell that by your name...j/k
But thats what I think also. They just have a great aggresive look to them. Although I don't like the wheels that they have stock. I don't know why, its not really the look, maybe they just need to be bigger, maybe 18 inch by 9 that would do alright.

  8. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

Yeah, I wish the SS and WS6 could be like the Vette and have 18" wheels rear, and keep the 17" wheels front. We definitely could use the traction!<!-- Signature -->

That would be nice, although I do like the camaro ss's stock wheels. But 18 inch would be nice.
And about the hoods, actually all the newer muscle cars have great hoods imo. The firebird has that mean looking hood, the camaro has the more classic looking hood and scoop, and the mustangs have a great scoop (although it would be nice if the gt's scoop was functinal). I love the mach 1's hood, that shaker hood is sweet. And the cobra's hood is great to.

  10. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

The WS6 is so damn nice looking but everytime I look at my SS I fall in love with it more, plus I noticed they're a lot more WS6's out there than SS so I like how I drive a rare-looking car! <!-- Signature -->

The newer firebirds have that exotic, but fierce muscle car look.
Camaro's have a smooth, but fierce look to them.

When it comes to looks, curves are important. The cars from the 50's and early 60's are a great example of great looking curves. take for example, a '64 or '67 nova, a '57 chevy, '62 vette, or many other classics. The "boxy" look does make cars look tough, though. Like the '70 charger, '65 mustang, or a 1st generation camaro.<!-- Signature -->

Firebird all the way. They just have a better shape. I happen to like the Firebird interior better. Even though they both have cheap plastic interiors it looks like they put more thought into the Firebird interior on the door panels & the center consol by the radio & air condition. As for the Camaro being a sleeper most people don't know the difference between the V6 Camaro & the Z28 so everyone assumes u have the V8. More people know the diffrenses in the Trans-am & the Firebird. Sooooooo... if u get a FORMULA (which has the Firebird body) most people seem to think u have the Firebird & are ready to burn u're 6. Then the light turns green bye bye.

And the 17x9 on 275/40s on the Ram-air look good. The Firebirds from 98 up use the 97 down Formula rims instead of the old cheap looking plastic things. I don't know y they insist on using the 16"s on the T/A. But I have a few sites on my favorites that show how to put the 335/35 17x11s on the rear of Camaros & Firebirds & they look soooooo sweet to bad the cheapest TIRES are $345 EACH

I wouldnt mind owning either one, but i have to say i like camaros better, they have better styling.<!-- Signature -->

    Camaro all the way.

The Firebirds look to me like GM's idea of a "dressed up" Camaro. They generally have more plastic fascia on them and usually have a bit more insulation. The Firebird hood usually have a more aggresive-looking hood with the ram air loacted farther forward than the Camaros. Personally, I think the Camaro is more muscle-car looking and the Firebird is more of a "luxury-looking" F-Body.

Don't get me wrong, they are good-looking F-Bodies, but the Camaro does it for me. Still, if everyone thought that same, we'd have a dull world. Keep the Firebirds coming and bring on the Holdens, too!

As for the numbers, I'd say the Firebird and Camaro are neck-and-neck. If you take identically-equipped F-Bodies, one a Camaro and one a Firebird, they should be VERY close to identical.

That is, a 3500-pound, A4, 3.23 Firebird should run right with a 3500-pound, A4, 3.23 Camaro. Problem is, most comparisions I have seen do NOT run identically-equipped cars. I saw an A4 Firebird with manual windows compared with an M6 Camaro that had electric windows. Hey! At LEAST compare A4 to A4 or M6 to M6 for crying out loud! And ... in THIS comparison, they didn't even give the curb weights!

  15. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

I'm a camaro chick ,so deffenetly the camaro.

  16. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

i no this is a strange place to put tis but SS hatchbacks base price is 27620 and convertible is 34715

  17. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

From the front, I love the looks of the WS6 Firebird. Unfortunately I think the rear looks kind of hokey.

  18. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

i love that in your face, i'm going to eat you feeling that i get when i see cars like the Trans-Am and Viper GTSR concept. so i'm going to have to say the Firebird

  19. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

I like the Trans-Am better than the Camaro by looks alone even though they are basically the same car. The Trans-Am with the Ram Air just looks so fat. The Camaro is almost uninspired looking but is undoubtedly just as awesome as the Trans-Am.

  20. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

Trans am would beat a Camaro

  21. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

I personally prefer the looks of the Camaro. The Firebird (especially the Trans-Am) just seem to exaggerated to me.

  22. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

    Camaro probably.

  23. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

Firebird all the way. the hood is the one thing on the looks that it has over the camaro. that air intake is the sweets looking ive ever seen.

  24. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

    cool car

  25. Re: Camaro or Firebird?

I would say the camaro not only because i own one but because of the interior the firebirds seem to like to make everyting in the interior round its like being in jean simmins house but i must say that ram air firebird hood really sets the car off without it it looks kinda like a pregnent guppy on the hood 98+
