post pics of GT
If you go to Kenne Bell and Accufab website, my car is the silver with black stripe. On Friday I got My NHRA 8.5 sec cage certified. John Mihovetz is just finnishing a build on the engine with his rods and pistons. The engine should be able to take 1400-1500 hp. Stay tuned.
The book Gm Sport Compact Performance Build Book, GM part number 88958646 explains how to take the Ecotec engine from stock to 250 hp, 250 to 400hp, 400 to 600hp, 600 to 1000hp and 1000 to 1400hp, each step lists all the items necessary with pictures. All of the parts are readily availavble. There is nothing else in the world like this.
I'm voting for a 2.0 Cossie Turbo. It's more in the spirit of tha car and will offer a decent amount of punch without costing a heap of money (At least not in Belgium).
Is this the 2.2 in the Cobalt and are any of these NA or supercharged applications?
At the higher hp levels, GM went to turbos. Several are listed for different hp levels.
I read about that build book in one of my car magazines. I'd like to get it just for the heck of it. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
I noticed that, but I didn't think it was necessarily ironic. Some V8-powered cars with huge overdrives and displacement on demand technologies actually get rather good mileage on the highway. I read about a long road trip a guy took in his C5 Corvette (can't remember if it was a Z06 or a lesser version) and averaged over 30 mpg, and that was without displacement on demand. Heck, my '87 GTI only musters 32-34 mpg on a long highway excursion, and I've only got around 160-or-so hp (not stock) coming from 2.0 liters. Our Passat 1.8T does about the same.
My uncle got 29mpg round trip from LA to Sacramento to visit my family. He drives a 2006 C6 Z06.
I'm an ironic individual and a combat Vet, I owned a Solar business for 11 years and I've personally run quite a few engines on CNG and Hydrogen including V8s, built CNG fueling facilities, so I feel I've earned my unique viewpoint.
My friends 454 RWHP LS6 V8 Miata gets 28 MPG on highway without using any advanced fuel / engine management technologies.
How do those facts strike your sense of irony?
a GE t700 turboshaft would be lighter <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
while im inclined to belive you, as will all new members we will need some sort of semi-proof for this. A pic of you in the car/ a piece of paper saying "hi supercars.net" or similar is the standard proof.
sorry to doubt you, but weve had one too many "sultan of bruneis" on this site.
original ford 1300 na lump'o'crump
The second page for the GT, on the Accufab web site mentions my name as the owner of the car.
I'm 53 years old and computer retarded. When I need to do things more complicated than just typing, I ask my 17 year old son for help. He's pissed off at me right now because I have been making him go to school on time and go to all of his classes. I'll try to post some picts. I just got the cage finnished and it has an 8.50 NHRA tag on it.
