For me these two cars does not even compete, (a bit on performance maybe, but as I have no figures on topspeed etc, its a bit hard, but I dont think the GT40 will outrun the Cien) Cien represents everything of the 21'st century with its hightech V12 enigne, futuristic design, and an overall appereance that just screams future.

Whereas the GT40 concept represents for me that is, the past, but what a beautiful past, this is pure driving, no fancy suspension that adopts to the track etc, just pure driving. Hopefully it is these thoughts that Ford have with this car.

I would take the GT40 over the Cien anytime!!! <!-- Signature -->

This car is exactly what ford and other american companies should be making. When it comes to hightech supercars the US simply cannot compete. Even if they make a car that can compare in speed, it will not be able to compete in sales with foreign companies like ferrari because most people would simply rather be able to say they drive a ferrari. For this reason cars like te cien will never be able to compete.
Things like this GT-40 is what they should be specializing in. It is a car without all the frills and hightech elements of other cars but will still be damn fast and handle well and give a highly unique driving experience. I am a big fan of foreign cars but I would definitely buy this car.

agreed, except for the statement "For this reason cars like the cien will never be able to compete." I disagree with this statement because i think the cien can and will compete. Just wait and see. I hope it goes into production. 750 hp, caddy comfort, a dream come true!!

This car is sweet tho!! <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif"><!-- Signature -->

As for America not competing in high-tech sportscars, I think that the Saleen S-7 is going to bring a lot of respect home for the U.S. Obviously I am a Euro guy, look at my name and avatar, but I like to see the U.S. get thier s*(t together on things like the Saleen and hopefully this car.
I still think that they should have modernized this more, unless they are only going for recreations with modern amenities.<!-- Signature -->

I don't think they should modernize the look, but that's my own personal opinion. SWEET CAR, one of the few Fords I like and have respect for.

who cares about the cien the f@#$ing gt40 is back hell yeah

  8. Re: good, but not Cien good...

well i too am a euro, and asian guy, but i love this car. i am a huge fan of the original, so natrually slightly better the design give it an over head cam shaft (its about an american sports car got one) and 500hp then it could only get better. i would take this car over ANY american car. i couldnt care less if it was a full 2 sec slower in the 1/4 mile then the cien, i'd still take this. the cien IMO is ugly, and will never live up to GM's way too optomistic preformance stats. <!-- Signature -->

Cien will most likly not be produced, They don't have the
experience in these fields, like Ferrari, Lamborghini and such!!
That's what I read!! But is still is an awesome idea!!!

  13. Re: good, but not Cien good...

what i meant is are not ford fans. and a the topic is its not as good as cien. so some cadi lover or something started.

Cien is a true concept car. The featured car in Motor Trend was comprised of cardboard cutouts and plastic molds. There was no intentions on making this car production. And to compare the two is one big waste of time. You have to keep these comparos in the same category.
