    i meant that the I6 IMO would be a better engine than any V6, because of less moving parts (cams and stuff like that), they have been using the I6 for ages in many different makes of cars, much longer than the V6 - so something has to be good about them. I mean, just look at the BMW's - the M3 for example, or 330i or any other BMW that has an I6 - they last and last. I know Ford is no where near as good as making I6's as what BMW is, but they have been making them for a long time.

    No 'Crystal Ball' needed there - just common sense

    Not necessarily...V6's do have their advantages over I6's. And I reckon the reason BMW engines last and last is because they make good engines, not necesarily due to the fact they are inline.

    true, but look at all the great world cars - BMW, Porsche, (Ford?? lol) and so on, they all use I6's still, cos they r reliable, sure, the V6 makes more power cos of its setup, but if u tune the I6's right, u can get heaps of power out of it, just look at the M3 and CSL versions! - thats in an NA tune aswell - 258 for M3 and 285 for CSL, there will always be different opinions, but IMO i would buy an I6 over a V6, if they came out in that model (eg. unlike the R35 or 350Z *drool*

    funny thing is, the xr6T isn't even meant to compete against the ss, the xr8 is....i think. Seeing how the hsv commies are worked on by a different company ( yes holden and hsv are seperate), wouldn't the tickford/fpv cars be put up against them? i know there's just the GT, but which car is the gt-p meant to take on? And which do you guys reckon will be better, the Pursuit or the maloo?

    what do u think the holden lovers need to pull out of their assholes, the statements or their heads?

    well when holden have their power upgrades in the VZ, then the GT will be against the clubsport, GT-p against the clubsport R8, they already are in terms of est prices

    The XR6T is matched against the SS, and the XR8 is matched against the Clubsport - look at the power figures on all the cars if u STILL dont believe me

    and btw - the Pursuit will beat the Maloo

    oh, and also, the GT AND GT-P is matched against the GTS (commodore, not the monaro) cos they have about the same power. ok, the GT and GT-P have 10kw less, but apparently ford is concentrating on overall handling and braking than engine performance - the exhaust system in the GT/GT-P isnt tuned, cos there is no more room to fit any headers in under the bonnet.

    GT-P is the more luxury model of the GT - ford, if this rumoured GT-HO (standing for Handling Optioned) comes out, should concentrate on pure performance, not luxury.

    Does that mean the 220kw VTII SS's was matched against the 220km TE50?

    The thing is, when you compare BA vs VY with similar price, the Falcon will win because of its extra straight line grunt, and both cars are about even in the steering department apparently (with the Ford slightly better....of course <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A> )

    When you compare BA vs VY cars of similar power, the Ford will win because of its (for the performance models anyway) lower price <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/grin.gif"></A>

    Yes but when you compare BA and VY with similar price, when Ford does win in straight line, it is not by much.
