  1. Got a 2012 Mazdaspeed3. Going to have to change the avatar now for my first time.

If you look at the picture, don't mind Stewie
  2. Congrats man. It's a pretty fun car.
  3. Good purchase. Remember to leave the HANDbrake on!
  4. Thats a fast mpv wheres woot
  5. I kind of like the current Mazdaspeed3.
  6. that's cool you got a garage for it, mine has to sit outside

how are you enjoying that clutch? i've gotten so used to it now i tend to over-rev other cars because the clutches grab so much later
  7. heads up: the engine/wind are too loud to use the in car bluetooth on the highway, its awesome for audio though

i use google music to stream my library through the car, the wheel/dash controls work for it but not for ipods connected through the headphone jack. also if you didn't get the tech package then you don't have the satellite radio receiver - its expensive to add.

    park it in gear!
  8. OMG @ handbrake joke LOL

    congrats, looks like a fun ride. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
  9. Haha handbrake gets used all the time with the gear in because of your story.

The clutch will take some time getting used to. It's already getting easier though but there were a few embarrassing moments.

All I have done was sync the bluetooth to my phone, and added only one contact who never picked my call. The road noise is loud on the highway but I just crank the stereo up (10 speaker Bose is sweet). The steering control will take more time to get used to than the clutch. So many buttons. My truck only had cruise.

Overall, very fun car and nice options for the price. Still figuring out all the options it has and taking it easy-ish since it's only around 700 miles now (mostly highway).

  10. the road noise is a mazda thing as far as i can tell. protege was loud on the highway too

i only use the left side buttons, volume and changing tracks or flipping from my music to sport talk radio.

i leave the info on the range/current mpg setting

    on highway
    drop to 5th
    turbo spools to 15
mpg sits in the single digits
  11. Great info guys. I'll be in the market for one of these soon. Nothing seems to touch it for the price. How is your overall mpg? I have a 40 minute drive to work so that concerns me.

The noise is probably coming from the tires. There might be some quieter aftermarket ones but you'll probably have to give up some grip.

  13. what embarasses me if the hill-assisted launch! FFS, I don't need that! If you can't clutch a car on a hill, buy an automatic (such as a Legacy).

  14. there's no hill assist
  15. I get close to 30mpg on the highway, and 24 around the city. I shift low and often and haven't been aggressive since it's still under 1k miles, so that might have something to do.
  16. Also, Bishop Ghost, what have you been doing for oil? Forums say to use Rotella T6 oil or other high quality synthetic, but the free oil changes the warranty covers uses some shitty cheap oil.

Edit:...but it's free and Mazda approved.
  17. Your opinion is bad, and you should feel bad!
  18. I take the free ones at the dealership. The car keeps the same oil a long time. Even though the book says 7500 they do it every 5k
  19. Ya those forums are full of nerds i put mobil 1 synthetique on my cx7 (hey same engine, we're engine bros) works fine
  20. Ya right we're smiley SUV bros. I just need to get wifed up now.
  21. Mine is pre smile. Bad ass dad edition
  22. put some teeths in that smile
  24. Whoa that steering wheel is way too crazy for me.

I'd consider one of these, buy why oh why can't you get one with a sunroof? And from what i understand you have to have clean sweep done for the stereo? <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A>
