I just ran about 1000 meters

  1. a start to get back in shape, I haven't been since high school (6 years ago). I used to run long distance track and cross country, best mile time was 5 flat.

    after that short run I can't breathe, and my lungs reaaalllyy hurt. I have no body fat or anything, I shoulda been in better form than this ;_;

  2. i started running about 2 months ago after a stop of 5 months or so. i could do only 2 miles or so, now i run 1 or 2 times a week and i can do 6 miles now yay. i always hate the feeling when you just start running after a period of not running. sucks so hard lol.
     
  3. I've really let myself go since last year. But I'm starting up rugby tomorrow so hopefully I can get back in shape.

    tips:
    -start eating well, take multivitamins.
    -take salmon oil pills to help your circulation.
    -go to your skool's gyme and use the aerobic equipment between classes
    -walk, jog or ride a bike to your classes

  6. I've been lifting on MWF and playing basketball and running on TRS since January 1, and I'm in much better shape than I've been in in over 5 years.   7. 1. I try to. I don't eat well but I'm conscious of what goes in, I don't eat fast food and junk very often.
    2. I don't wanna take supplements that's spending money ew
    3. I can't really walk, jog, or ride a bike to classes because of this stupid annoying bridge. well I could but I'd rather not, I go to school and night and it'd be dangerous
    5. aerobic equipment? like a treadmill? nah I'd rather run or swim

  8. dude wtf did you delete my post? it's the truth. ive been riding my bike to school every day as long as i can remember and it doesn't do shit(it's a 20 min ride to school + 20 min ride home).

    multivitamins though, for like 3 months is $10
    salmon pills are about the same.

    very cheap, and not quite supplements, just good for you in general.
     
  16. but serious: just build up the runs. start out with 1 mile, next time you go for the 2 miles, next time the 2,5/3 miles etc. etc. it just takes practice.

    it was starting to affect me, so i don't smoke anything now for like 3 months [yay].

    edit for forradracing: smoking is still cool though but it sucks
     
  18. I always find biking as pretty mediocre exercise. Unless you are REALLY pounding you're just sitting on your ass moving your legs a bit. Meh.

  21. I hadn't run since before I went away last year. I went for a run on Tuesday night and slaughtered a few decent hills and was about as fit as when I left, even though I've not done any exercise since I've been back.

    I need to start running several times a week, or at least take my bike out. I haven't ridden it for prolly over 6 months.
     
  22. I find it really funny that I look like I'm in incredible shape but I'm a wheezing slug. well kinda funny. ok not funny it sucks
     
  23. I pound the #$%# out and live in a really hilly place so it's a good workout. I also can't pace myself, so it's just one long time trial until I #$%# out.
     
  24. Good. Me too, like 8/10ths at LEAST.

    ALSO, i've been jogging lately too. I used to be able to do like 4 km in the summer, now i'm back to like 2-3km. Ah well, should be in dece shape for the summer if I keep up.   25. haha same here. ive been sittin infront of pc for like half a year stright and now im outta breath just like runnin for a min.
