You'd take an M3 because you couldn't handle the tremendous power in this car.

  3. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

Good try to defend the car that was too crappy to keep on the market.

The 2003 cobra was stopped for a few weeks due to suspected quality issue, for about the last month ford has not released any cobra that this may pertain to from the factory. The problem has been fixed and they are currently making a run of cobras for japan. Production will begin again on the 12 of Nov. To me the stop is only good news, a possible quality issue on a car I have on order will be fixed, because of the problem there may not be a 2004 cobra raising the value of the 2003 because of the fact that it may be the last cobra with this body style and possibly the only supercharged cobra due to the fact that they are all getting bigger engines in 2005. Every car company has there problems, give the cobra credit where it is due.

  5. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

You're such a moron. They stopped it, fixed the problem and now their is no problem. Not many car companies would do that, most would wait until the customers started to complain and then only after a certain number of them complained would they do anything, it anything about it. Idiot, idiot, idiot.

  6. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

No, they haven't fixed the problem, they are gonna TRY and release it again on the 15 of November, but you could almost read it properly.

Here, I'll quote it for you, maybe that will make it easier. "Ford will try and resume Cobra production on or about 15 November 2002"

    Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

They have fixed the problem, here straight from blue oval tabloid I little further down the page under follow up articles:
Engineers corrected the problem in about two weeks, Ford said. The remainder of the production halt is due to time it takes to reschedule parts supplies for the low-volume car.
    http://www.auto.com/industry/ford30_20021030.htm
You should realize I have one on order, I do know the status, the problem is fixed, thank you ford employee that caught the problem before it got to anyone. There should be no more reason to argue this is, it is already proven angus you don't know what you are talking about.

  9. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

On order? You bastard, you'll have tons of fun.

  10. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

I have been waiting about 4 months for it now. I got the only option available, the chrome wheels which isn't available till the second run of cars starting on Nov 12. I am looking into having it sent to sean hyland motorsport for upgrades. They told me they would do the titanium exhaust, upgraded supercharger drive, lightweight battery and lightweight floor pan sound deadener for an extra $5000 (including destination and delivery). That will give it a little more horsepower and a little less weight, but you only get a year warranty on those parts. So, I am probably going to wait until the factory warranty expires on the car, unless I can pay a little more for 3 years from sean hyland. I traded in my 2001 cobra for it and I have been without my fun car to drive, the wait is killing me.

  11. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

I hear ya, man. I sold my 2001 SS for a Jeep. Don't ask why, I'm just an idiot. The Mach 1 I have on order should arrive in a month or so, if I decide to buy it. I'm still debating if I want 600 dollar payments. I might end up looking for a 2001 Cobra like the one you dumped. Too bad you didn't post it on here <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/sad.gif"></A> I might hane nabbed it. My wife is a stang fan. If I'm gonna buy a stang, it would have to be DOHC. The GT just isn't quite par with the SS.

    Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

My old cobra went back to Woodhouse Ford, same place I bought it at, same place I ordered my new one. I pretty sure it is still there. I had it a year and put on 5000 miles, 3 oil changes kept it in perfect condition. They gave me $26000 for it. If you are around blair, nebraska go look at it, and then go across the street to the Woodhouse dodge place. Same owner, he races viper. They usually have about fifteen on hand, it's a dream to see in person. They are all kept inside in their own room. My recommendation is if your going to get a mustang hold out for the cobra the extra money is worth it. http://www.woodhouseviper.com/

    Dream Garage:
    2003 yellow cobra
    2003 black corvette Z06
1999 acr viper silver with blue stripes

    one down, two to go

  13. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

You are a moron, I'll quote that for you, "You are a moron". They have fixed the problem, and they are building some right now for Japan and thats why they are halting production until November 15. Again, you are a moron, just in case you didn't catch that. You try so hard to bash American cars and fail so badly, poor sad moron.

  14. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

He's obviously retarded and probably takes that little yellow bus to school.

  15. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

I think we all knew that, but thanks for pointing it out. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
I'm guessing slightly retarded, but he (angiso idiot) might also have downs syndrome, not sure yet.

  16. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

Its not hard to bash American cars when they have to pull them off the market because of quality concerns.

    Angus

  17. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

angus you are trully a retard, your beautiful m3 and also m5 had a recall for cooling problems in their first year, heck i believe the m5 had two recalls. stop being a retard and respect the cars.
and if american cars are so crapp why the are they gaining market place in europe and why is ford fucos the best selling car in the world and i admit it has quiet a recall history.

and so you don't think i am bias i do own a 1990 bmw 325is. sold my mx6 for the thing. sweet ride.

  18. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

I'll say it again you're a moron. Would you rather them put it out with a problem or fix it so no one has to worry about it? They caught the problem, fixed it and now their is no problem, see how that works? You try so hard to diss American cars, and for all of that effort what do you get...you get to look like a ass, good job.
And yes it is hard to bash American cars, when you can show me a car for $34,000 or less that can run the quarter mile in 12.5 seconds and can still handle like its on rails then you can say what you want, until then you're just some white trash idiot driving around in an old rusted out BMW.

  19. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

Yeah its the truth, hed rather have a slower car, he cant handle the power HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

  20. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

Hmmmm... Thats an interesting statement made. Because looking at Road And Track magazine, I would say that the M3 is a faster car. Not only does it accelerate faster, but it brakes harder, and holds the skidpad just slightly better.

    M3
    0-60: 4.7s
    Skidpad: .091 G's
    Braking 60-0: 112 feet
    Braking 80-0: 200 feet

    2003 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra:
    0-60: 4.9s
    Skidpad: 0.90 G's
    Braking 60-0: 123 feet
    Braking 80-0: 222 feet

    Thanks for coming out, idiot.

    Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

Oh, dear. Angisio, you don't seem to understand do you? In the automotive world, when a manufacturer spots a defect and halts production to fix it, that is considered BETTER than releasing a batch of defective automobiles. Such as what BMW is experiencing right now with some early build date M3's:
    http://members.roadfly.com/jason/m3engines.htm

Nice sets of numbers from the back of R&T. Too bad you forgot to mention these numbers:

    Mustang Cobra / M3
    0-100: 11.1 / 11.6
    1/4 mile: 13.3 @ 108.1 / 13.3 @ 106.8

But why compare two different tests done on two different dates (and on two different continents)? Why not compare them when tested at the very same time by the very same drivers? See my post for that info.

  22. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

What American car handles like it's on rails? (The neon does stick to the road well, but it has so much body roll I'd be afraid it'd roll on a tight enough turn.

  23. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

The Corvette, Z06, Camaro SS, Viper, Saleen S7, Shelby Series One, Callaway C12, Panoz Esperante and AIV Roadster, and SVT Cobra (and Cobra R) will all outgrip the Neon, and even the Neon SRT-4. By rather large margins, too.

  24. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

Guibo hit it on the nail, just read his post.

  25. Re: I think I'd Take an M3.

Thats nice and all, but the times are way off on the mustang moron. Best time for the svt cobra, 4.5 seconds 0-60, and a quarter mile run of 12.5 seconds. Sorry, but the SVT cobra is faster and cheaper.
