I'm sorry..

Discussion in '2000 Hennessey Viper Venom 800TT' started by yungcarfreak, Jul 11, 2003.

  1. When I said that this car is only good in straight I was wrong. A user whos name starts with viper imed me on aol and told me I was wrong. I must have gotten the fact when I looked at a website. It had wrong stats. I also have a question, what does skidpad mean?
  2. Re: I'm sorry..

Skid pad roughly means they test how much lateral acceleration can the car stand without losing grip (skidding). They do that by driving the car around a circle with a certain radius and measuring the top speed that the car manages without losing direction (and the lateral acceleration, of course)

    hope that helps <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
  3. Re: I'm sorry..

and of course this car did very well, hennessey mod cars are awesome, when you've been in one (I have, dad's friends 650r now pushing close to 1,000hp after more mods) you begin to see how crazy they are, it's like a video game almost...
  4. Re: I'm sorry..

They are better then a video game
  5. Re: I'm sorry..

but u don't need to worry about speeding tickets, or crashing in Video games!
  6. Re: I'm sorry..

yeah that's true, and besides, until we can afford one of these cars.. well we have to settle for 'driving' them in video games
  7. Re: I'm sorry..

    i don't mind...
    most video games are fun...MOST...

    That would be me. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
  9. Re: I'm sorry..

yes it was! this guy is the viper guru. he should own a clan
  10. Re: I'm sorry..

Do you have a link to a site with full and accurate stats for this, it would be much appreciated. I've seen loads of sites but all with different stats for it.

  12. Re: I'm sorry..

    good idea
  13. Re: I'm sorry..

The correct stats. are from the magazine (june 2001 issue of motortrend)

    Skidpad: 1.05g
    Slalom: 75.1mph
    60-0 braking: 110ft

    In comparison

    Mclaren F1:

    Skidpad: .86g
    Braking, 60-0 mph: 127 ft
    Slalom Speed: 64.5 mph

    Skidpad: 1.03g
    Braking, 60-0 mph: 119 ft
    Slalom Speed: 71.7 mph

    Skidpad: 1.05g
    Braking, 60-0 mph: 109 ft
    Slalom Speed: 73.0 mph

    Porsche 911 GT1:

    Skidpad: .99g
    Braking, 60-0 mph: 110 ft

And it came 4th overall in the car and driver supercar challenge, and on the road course.

(Go to fast-autos.net, dodge-vipers.com, or hennesseyperformance.com or just read the correct stats. i posted)

  14. Re: I'm sorry..

Sorry if I sound a bit too disbelieving but thoes stats say it handles better than the Enzo which is'nt true.
  15. Re: I'm sorry..

In a Car and Driver issue, they did test an Enzo: (car and driver uses 70-0 braking)

    0-60 mph: 3.3 sec
    0-100 mph: 6.6 sec
    Quarter Mile: 11.2 @ 136mph
    Top Speed: (mfr's est) 209mph
    Skidpad: 1.05
    70-0 braking: 151 ft
    Slalom: 73.0

    (street tires)
    0-60 mph: 3.2 sec
    0-100 mph: 6.6 sec
    Quarter Mile: 10.71 sec
    Top Speed: (est.) 235+ mph
    Skidpad: 1.06
    70-0 braking: 143 ft
    Slalom: 75.1

The 800TT can out accelerate, out skidpad, out slalom, and out brake (or out handle) the Enzo.

On a track that basically would mean:

-The 800tt out-brakes the Enzo into a turn

    -corners better in the turn

-and out-accels out of the turn

-And on the straight aways, beat the Enzo with the higher top speed.

"it handles better than the Enzo which is'nt true."

The numbers don't lie, it does.

  16. Re: I'm sorry..

The two cars were tested on two different days and, most probably, by two different drivers. The only way to draw a true comparison is by head-to-head testing with the same driver.

    Re: I'm sorry..

Motortrend did the 1/4 mile in 10.8 seconds, and a 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. The skid pan figures for the 800tt may be 1.05 but the Enzo has recorded that, http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=6734&page_number=3 , the 800tt will no doubt accelerat quicker, but it's heavier, has worse aerodynamics and a worse weight distribution, alot of figures for the 800tt also have been done with the slicks on, I'm not saying the one you posted were but most people don't realise. The 800tt has had loads of tests to get the most from it, the Enzo has'nt yet.
  18. Re: I'm sorry..

This car is a piece of shit. In fact, all Vipers are pieces of shit. The End.
  19. Re: I'm sorry..

I'd rather see stats from a person that doesn't like both the McLaren and Viper.
  20. Re: I'm sorry..

Agreed, an engine on wheels. Also known as a POS, Maybe it has POSitrac.

The Speed 12,Enzo,McLaren and Blitz Skyline own this.
  21. Re: I'm sorry..

I'd like to see a test in EVO. If they said it was faster then I would believe, EVO have alot of respect from me for their car ratings.
  22. Re: I'm sorry..

The 10.8 quarter mile figure given by Motor Trend was only an estimate (the straightaway at Fiorano only allowed them to get to around 98 or so mph), and the quarter mile figure was only an extrapolation. I'm not saying MT can't get a 10.8 for the Enzo. Simply that it hasn't been done yet.

i think thats called an opinion...ya thats it and guess what??...every1 has one
