With the money your gunna spend on one of these, it would be alot better just to get a real car for speed.
Re: Just get a F-body But I'd rather be able to drive fast on twisty Tarmac roads than Race in a straight line, therefore a "F-body", not to mention that I'd like to own a car 5 years down the road, not a pile of rusted iron.
Re: Just get a F-body But I'd rather be able to drive fast on twisty Tarmac roads than Race in a straight line, therefore an "F-body" would be a dumb choice, not to mention that I'd like to own a car 5 years down the road, not a pile of rusted iron.
Re: Just get a F-body ummmmmmmmm have you ever driven an fbody? i bet not they actually handle a hell of alot better then you think.... As for the whole rust thing 90% of the car is plastic or fiberglass and last time i checked these didnt rust (maybe spontanously combust ) but i had a 94 TA like no more then 3 months ago now its 2002 so that means the car was what 8 years old and guess what? no rust dont be a cock AMF
Re: Just get a F-body 5 years down the road the F body will be worth a hell of a lot more because they dont make them anymore.
Re: Just get a F-body Yep, I've driven them before, good for big sweeping drifts, stable, but too bulky & too much weight, not nimble enough, not very responsive steering, basically it felt good and stable, but everything was deadened (feel of the road, difficult to tell when I did and didn't have traction, when to turn and how much), not very precise. A car should feel like an extension of yourself, not like some big powerful thing you're just manipulating. When did they start making them of plastic and/or fiberglass? I've seen some from the late 80's that had more rust than a 1976 Corolla. Most I've seen were pretty rusty
Re: Just get a F-body The later 3rd gen were mostly plastic/fiberglass and all the 4th gen i know cuz i have owned a 2nd gen a 3rd gen and a 4th gen. As for handling im just saying they do turn and alot better then everybody else thinks they do i raced mine all the time on twists and neva recked it once. They do have that traction problem but with all that torque what do you expect and with RWD? Im not saying its the best handling car out there but don't count it out and don't say you can only race it in a strait line cuz you will be proven wrong AMF
Re: Just get a F-body Then why is it that most Civic owners prefer to race on a drag strip? Every time you see a civic beating some high-performance sports car, its always done on a drag strip. A civic could never beat an american sports car on the track.
Re: Just get a F-body I'd love to have an "f-body" if I were interested in 30 year old pushrod technology and some great chassis flex. We'll see what car theyre still making in a couple years, oh wait, they already stopped making your f-body. bahahaha!
Re: Just get a F-body yeah nothing like that 30 year old pushrod technology, that can pump out 325+ horses and still get better gas mileage than a Honda S2000. damn old technology, it obviously doesnt work worth a shit. gees...
Re: Just get a F-body i would take an old camaro or firebird over a civic, because of 1 thing. THE FBODY HAS POTENTIAL. Look at me i got a big wing and a lound muffler, you must be sweet now that your like every other civic owner that claims to be fast. You restore an old fbody thats a work of art. Ill consider a civic to be sweet when it beats a fbody stock.
Re: Just get a F-body Thats because you're used to driving an udnerpowered light civic. If you drove an f-body for more then 10 minutes you'd notice the great handling. When you're used to one type of car (light, fwd, and low hp) and then switch over to another type of car thats on the other end of the spectrem (high hp, lots of torque, and heavier) it takes time to get used to it. Just like it would take time for somebody who drives an f-body to get used to a civic.
Re: Just get a F-body u guys are wasting your money the whole topic is true just get an fbody and put the same money you put in your cheap litlle cars and im sure you will see my point.
Re: Just get a F-body Exactly my point. The only Civics that win races are Civics tuned for dragging. The only Civic that could handle okay is the Type-R, even though it doesn't have speed.
