I don't know if id want to own one but id love to drive one ... i saw one on my local roadcourse (in partial race trim was modified a bit and had wider tires than stock with the fender flares) it was so funny to watch it on the track cuz it was passin cars with at least 3 times the power (eg 2001 corvette Z06 ) it was a club race the drivers were not pros just fyi .

I love the original Mini. It was good on the track but even better on the rally circuit where it used to go head to head with Porsche 911's Austin Healy and Lotus Cortinas.

I have to say I am not a fan of the new Mini. They seem to be everywhere. After driving the new Cooper I was left under whelmed when comparing it to the old Cooper. Ok so the new Mini is more refined and quitter to drive. It is even easier to live with. But While its handling was good it wasn't as good as the original when on song.

Never has so much outright success been won by so few litres (997, 1071, 970 and 1275cc).
