Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

1. This is why honda would never be able to keep up with everyone else....I mean, look at this design....

Body-Flawless, Bold, Agressive, American

Engine-Big, Bad, Powerful

Shock Value-Be honest, what would blow you away more to see on the street....A Type a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,....(whatever) Civic, Accord, Integra, NSX....Or this bad machine? If you even say any of that Mugen garbage, you are only lying to yourself....

Honda Losers can lick my tingly balls

2. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

Uh hugh. and if you can now just show me how i makes any sense at all to compare this to a 20K, 30K, or even a 90K NSX...........

This car will be above 100K by a long shot. And the next NSX is looking to have a hybrid engine set up that gives it AWD, with electrical motors in the front and a 3.2 powering the rear wheels. mAybe a combined 400 hp. Not exactly a world record, but quite respectable none the less.

This car has nothing to do with Hondas. It has no Honda equivalent. The nearest one would the aforementioned NSX, and it is not even in production.

3. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

Dude the next Ford GT40 will be 100K and 120K. This car is totally marketed to people considering to buy an NSX.

Usetus B, do urself a favour and go #$%# urself

5. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

I diagree. The two cars apeal to different tastes. The GT-40 will be a performance beast with huge heritage, the NSX is much like a Ferrari in that it is all about a technoilogical tour de force and F1 like feelings. This cars' competition will be The Viper and Vette in most peoples eyes. In terms of price range, its competition will be The 911 turbo and possibly the NSX, but those are very different machines. I ont see a lot of GT owners considering a NSX or vice versa.

6. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

everyone backing the hondas...you guys r the gayest bunch of homos i've ever seen. i don't care bout no GT40, my RX-7 could kick its ass hands down, all i have to do is dial up my boost and that sucker cqan suck my exhaust fumes!

7. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

And your RX-7, is it real? Not to be to offensive, but 99.9% of the time, when some jackass with that kind of name and that kind of statement pops up, he drives an 89 Escort or something, and its not a Cossie.

Even if you have a car, your a fool. That post is pure crap.

8. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

NSX could take it, maybe... He probably means that the uber-tuned (heh) Civics and the like. Probably never even knew that the NSX existed.

12. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

I can't decide if forum topics like this should piss me off or not.
I drive a 1989 Honda CRX Si. It is not the fastest machine ever. I look at reality. My friend's CRX was running a 12.98 quarter mile on street tires. Whoever said that this car would be purchased by the person with their own desire (technology or "balls") is absolutely correct. The reason I like driving my CRX is because it weighs nothing and has great cornering. I'm pulling 110 or so horsepower. The important thing is that I'm happy with my Honda, just like joe schmoe over there is happy with his Mustang. I personally do not like Mustangs; I used to have one for reference. It was big, heavy, and slow. Khari gave me props for having some intelligence. Whether he reads this now and changes his mind or not I don't care. I drive what is appealing to me. A good friend of mine is a Mustang enthusiast. When we talk about it, I point at the things I don't like about them and he points out what he likes about them. We've pretty much reached a stand-still on the whole debate because it's bogus.

show me some jap p.o.s. that runs under 6.5 in the quarter for under 100k like billy gliddens and doug mangrums mustangs you ignorant schmuck. your just another ignorant teenie bopper who thinks they know cars cause they saw the fast and the furious.

14. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

Antidomestic, you are an idiot.
Import slayer, I really do hope you aren't saying that I need to show you an import that does the quarter mile in under 6.5 seconds for less than one hundred thousand dollars. They definitely wouldn't be legal in California that's for sure. So, for the sake of the argument, I'm going to assume you meant 0-60 times.
Acura NSX- 5.0 seconds around $90k
Audi S8- 6.1 seconds around $75k
BMW's entire line of M cars as well as the new 745i and the 330i all under $100k and the worst of them is a 6.3 which is the 745i (not bad for a tank)
Honda S2000- 5.5 seconds around $35k
Most if not all Infiniti's cars are under $100k and do 6.1-6.5 second runs
Lotus Esprit- 4.4 seconds around $85k
Maserati Coupe- 5.0 seconds around $95k
Most Mercedes
Nissan 350Z- 5.6 seconds around $35k
Porsche's under $100k are capable
Subaru Impreza WRX- 5.7 seconds around $24k

Don't worry that's not a real exhaustive list. It's just what I found in my Road and Track road test summary. Toyota Supra Turbos and Mazda RX7's put out some really good times but I don't want to put anything that wouldn't be exact.
Imports are not just limited to Japan; so, you have some German and some English cars on the list.

Grow a brain before you type next time.

15. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

This whole argument is gay. You all know the NSX does not have better times than the GT40, so you say "Oh, there are lots of 10 second modded civics that can take this"

Comparing modded cars to stock cars is stupid. You take 5000 dollars and including the purchase price of a car, like an old mustang, make it faster than any of these cars. I have seen LOADS of 10 second mustangs for that pricerange that people are selling.

16. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

Crx aren't bad little cars, although I admit I've never driven one. I have driven Miatas and other compact cars though (same principal; light and fun) and I loved it. CRXs along with most other Hondas are perfect daily drivers, getting excellent fuel mileage and can be fun at the same time. As a daily driver they are much better (ironic coming from me, seeing I drive a Vette that has never heard of good gas mileage ) Glad to see you drive what you like as everyone should. Gotta hate those people in the "It's from a different country, it must suck" mind set.

17. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

This goes to show that american cars will KILL any f***en japenese pic of sh*t car. If you were to take the best stock japenese car and put it against this (stock) the japenese car will get ruined!!

18. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

Congratulations everyone!
Dan has just proved that neither side of these arguments are exempt from idiocy. Please, allow me to shove some )!#%)#! )!#&%)!#% in there just to make my point stronger. Dan, seeing as we are all reading this as text, typing things like that only prove that you are an idiot.

19. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that if you get me some performance figures I'll see what I can find on a Japanese car that will do close to what this one does. Also, assuming that I do find one, I'll keep it in the same price range and make the test numbers that which are found in Japan not here in America. One major asset to the Japanese is the Skyline, as overused as it is, it's one heck of a performer for being in the neighborhood of $80k. I believe that is $20k cheaper than this car if I'm not mistaken.

20. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

I don't think the Skyline can quite compete with this car, it's just too heavy with not quite enough power. I think you might have to wait until companies like Nissan and Toyota start to take advantage of the end of the gentlemen's agreement to keep hp low. There will be a 500hp mid-engined supercar from Toyota in the next few years, and will probably about as fast if not a bit faster than this.

There are no real performance figures as of yet, only estimates, but I think it suffices to say it is pretty consistant with the Viper in terms of stats (although maybe one or two hundred pounds lighter, depending on what the weight turns out to be).

21. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

I would figure this car would be lighter. The viper weighs in at something like 3400 or 3500 pounds. You are right about the skyline though; it's not a light automobile. That concept from Toyota, should it enter production, would definitely be a competitor. I still look at the ones from Japan that have less than $1000 of bonus work and are putting out over 450hp running through the all wheel drive system.

22. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

I'm thinking tommy kaira...

23. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

I probably would have been too, but their stuff is overpriced and removes the fun of do-it-yourself.

24. Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

It's not too heavy at all, Sc.net claims it ways 3800 something if im correct? that's around 300lbs more then the actual weight and how does it lack power? I mean an inline-6 giving out around 400hp is pretty good and maybe if you knew the 286hp that sc.net claims is false

Now as for Toyota coming out with a 500hp supercar, they probably wont, right now they are focusing on the economy side and by doing that they're growin bigger and bigger

Lets say this Gt-40 comes out, whats gonna happen when the new Skyline comes out? Optional V6 or V8 pumping 400hp+ and if rumours are true, price range is gonna be around 60000$, thats half the price of the Gt-40 and with 60000$ saved from buying the Gt-40, you can shop for aftermaket parts and make the Skyline rape the Gt-40

Re: Let's see some Honda crap take this on....

Do you have a dyno test of a stock Skyline putting out 400hp because I would certainly doubt it very much.

http://gtr-skyline.com/

http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/nissan_skyline.asp

Both sites (and many more) seem to think the skyline has just under 300hp.

Also even with 400hp and 3500lbs it still wouldn't be in the performance bracket with this car, which weighs about 3000lbs and has an extra 100hp. That's a big difference, not one that can be rectified with the skyline's famous AWD system.

You were doing fine until then, but now you've brought up modified vs. Stock, possibly one of the dumbest comparisons. Do you believe the new skyline will cost 60 000 USD? The base price of a 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 was 89, 500 USD. Why would it get cheaper when they are giving it extensive improvements? My guess would be around 90,000 USD, and only that low if it is brought to the US by Nissan and sold within the country. Expect 120,000 USD+ if importing it is necessary.

Also there is no real proof or even a concept shown to the best of my knowledge that would even indicate the Skyline being significantly modified and brought to the US. You're going on rumors which have a strange way of changing significantly before production. I would wait until the car exists if I were you.
