    I am not insulting you or anything, but ford did build the highly sucessful DFV[1967-1983] and it won many championships, but, when the turbo era donned, Ford was destroyed. The only Turbo ford engine ever made was the TEC V6 of 1986-87. I was decent but nowhere near the capability of the Honda V6t. That was a marvel of engineering.

    Honda haha yeah right i mean look at this it's a work of art and if you think that a Honda could take it on u ppl have some serious problems i mean take a look at the engines and then at the weights no Honda comes to the same class even. It is called a Ferrari killer and that's what it does

    the Ford GT-40 dominated the Le Mans and most Endurace races of its time. I still have yet to see a Honda to do in Le Mans. Put the NSX and GT40 (GT) in Nurburing (or however you spell it) and the Ford GT40 will kill it. SVT, Saleen, Roush all put forth in this car. SVT engine, Saleen suspension, Roush frame, or it might be the other way around. But you got some of the best companies into this car. No Honda can touch it. It beat the Gallorade and 360 Modena. Cost less too. Its still a Ferrari slayer and lamborghini. So Honda cant be put into comparsion with the GT until it can beat a Lamborghini and Ferrari. and once Honda does that. Ford will have designed something faster such as the Shelby Cobra that is basiclly a V-10 600hp engine on a body the size of a Miata. I probably listed stuff that may not be correct or right but thats from the top of my memory. I got this info from here and Automobile Magazine. I will list if u dont believe me.

    You do know that the NSX-R ran Nordschleife in 7:56....right? not as fast as the GT but close, the Arta NSX is quite capable of blowing away the GT. BTW - the NSX-R has routinely beaten both the Murcielago, and the Ferrari 360.

    And in case you don't recall, the 1995 NSX-R dominated its class in LeMans in 1995.

    The Ferrari 360 doesnt deserve the name Ferrari. Im sorry, but Ive heard many things about even the NSX beating the 360. its like...cmon. It gets its ass handed to it on the 1/4 mile by a SLIGHTLY modded domestic car for 1/10 the price and many many other cars can beat it around a track. I say we dont use the 360 in comparos anymore ESPECIALLY in 1/4 miles or tracks that have alot of straightaways...for the 360's sake.

    What gets its ass handed to it by what domestic car?

    The NSX-R beats a lot of cars that it shouldn't be able to beat.

    Ford GT's are the first american car that can actually go very fast in a curved path. As said by the Top Gear driver (im not from England but i have seen it) It handle like Lotus Elise Sound like Honda NSX Shock like Lamborghini Diablo and Go like a Ferrari 360. He then went on to say the overkilled the speed.


    THIS THING IS QUICK in Acceleration and TOP SPEED.

    That, my friend, is the power of torque. TOrque allows you to run longer gears allowing for a higher top speed.

    Yea this thing has great torque. Without torque hp is usless. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A> Also i'd like to make the point that the GT has 550/500 but most of those ferraris will have maybe 100 or more less lb/ft of torque than horsepower.

    Hell, they usually have atleast 150 less torque than hp.

    Yea now almost all supercars are lacking a whole lot in the lb/ft of the car. If they could raise this on other cars those others would be a lot better performing....... that is why the Ford GT dominates!!!

    The problem is that these car companies choose use tiny lil engines with alot of cylinders. The simpliest equation for alot of torque is big displacement. Lots of supercar companies ignore that and think that horsepower is everything. Thats not true. Race any current Ferrari (except for the Enzo) in a straight line against a GT and the GT will DOMINATE. Race the same one on a track and the GT will STILL win.

    Hell the Enzo cant really say much to a Ford GT. The Enzo only starts to beat it around 80 or 100 mph.

    No no no no, the NSX has no hands on the GT40. It's lightweight only makes a considerable difference off the line from a dead stop, but the GT40 has proportional torque to make up for that. Plus this GT40 has the horsepower to keep it rolling once it reaches higher speeds. Lightweight or not, 290 horsepower doesn't cut it. This car is also lightweight as well. By the way, people don't often realize this but the NSX isn't all that light, the Z06 doesn't weight that much more, check it out.
