    BMW

  3. Re: Lincoln Continental vs new BMW Serie 7

I'd choose the 760iL without any hesitation.

The Lincoln is just a copy of the Bentley Continental with a kind of new edge design that isn't very well done.

  4. Re: Lincoln Continental vs new BMW Serie 7

Only ignorant people compare these two...

  5. Re: Lincoln Continental vs new BMW Serie 7

I would pick the BMW over this piece of shit. Look how ugly this car is and its got a V12 that only gets 414 horsepower. Also Ford made this car and most Fords break down after 100,000 miles. One of my friends has a 1989 BMW with almost 200,000 miles and it still runs pretty good.

    I disagree.
although that Lincoln is old-fashioned I find him more beautiful than the new series 7.
and he has more potency than BMW.<!-- Signature -->

true dude bmw aint got crap to go against this except probably weight reduction and the size. this is meant for huge luxury

if u want real luxury try cadillac deville lower than bmw and has the same bhp again, the only problem is cadillac is heavy. bmw is made for light weight and racin purposes

    7 series...lincoln sucks<!-- Signature -->

  11. Re: Lincoln Continental vs new BMW Serie 7

so im guessing we have to choose between lincoln and BMW, even though the question up top asks what is the best high-luxury car.

In this case I say BMW 100%
BMW's refinement level could slap lincoln around something awful.

outside of these two, I would say Bugatti is pretty nasty on the luxo.<!-- Signature -->

This thing is big American luxury. Its tuned to people that cruise to where they are going and enjoy a refined and supple ride. Executives would buy this car, they don't waste their time drag racing yuppies in BMW's. But I bet this would win in a straight line.<!-- Signature -->

ok... forget what you thought about BIG AMERICAN LUXURY.
Art & Science Caddy's, and new Lincolns will change your mind about the previous models' boulevard ride and geriatrics- driving dinamics.

The newxt gen STS is aimed at the buyers of BMW's 5 series, and so will the next Conti. My bet is that both will be decent contenders.

And for you guys who love all the high tech gizmos in this particular car I've got 2 words for you:

BMW all the way, this car can't touch it. Granted, this is speculation. I'm assuming this car won't be too great, i mean we don't know anything about it. No price, no times, so i cant say much. But i find it impossible to even comprehend a Lincoln beating out a BMW. <!-- Signature -->

And how many executives you know? I dont know them, but I see them more in bimmers than in Lincolns...<!-- Signature -->

I like retro looking cars but keeping their brand identity. The lincoln is a great example of that, with great engine, very nice looking, advanced technology and all the features to became an important competitor among luxury cars. I've seen the 745 and I don't like it yet. The interior of the BMW is what I hate most. It has lost it's identity, just like Mercedes has with the S-class.

!rst off, I don't call this retro, they are returning to there roots to the time when they were considerd a top competitor. They should have never swayed off course. The proof is evident, all the well respected designs for cars are the ones that they expand on there roots (where they came from) and rarley follow trend. It works in a car company it works in life.
2ndly, going by looks alone, I would DEFINATLY take this over the 7 series! Without hesitation. If the production model is really close to this one.
In regards to the luxury sedan style, this style that America is returning to is POTENTIALLY a superior design to all other styles, including Bentley & RR (a car company I respect deeply). <!-- Signature -->

That happens when you have over 120 computers in a car <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

  22. Re: Lincoln Continental vs new BMW Serie 7

I like this a lot. The new & is beautiful except for the cheap looking strip on the back IMO. Other than that it is hard to decide. Definitely competitors.<!-- Signature -->

the lincoln will win without any doubt because it is better built and manufactured.

  24. Re: Lincoln Continental vs new BMW Serie 7

I would get the Lincon (if it's like this one) without question for a couple reasons.
#1 The Lincon looks better inside and out. I really like the simple and clean look of the Lincon compared to the bumpy and curvy BMW.
#2 everyone and there grandmas going to buy the 7 series because of the status it gives them in society. I am only impressed with status if your truly the cream of the crop (like Bentley, Rolls Royce, Maybach).
#3 These cars are not for racing around in, however, if you do beat a guy in the 7 series with the Lincon, it's far more satisfing.<!-- Signature -->
