LS2 Gto - 0-100 in under 5 seconds.

  1. Anyone got the new Motor?? The Vz Gto got from 0-100 in 4.99 seconds. Did the 1/4 mile in 13.09. There some quick numbers for a standard car.
     
  2. was a bit of a suprise. i thought they might eventually get a manual to go that quick but not the auto

    and the engine is heavily detuned so i cant wait to see what happens when tuners and future model hsv's can get the ls2 to do

    Since when had the LS2 been heavily detuned?
     
  4. Yeah i was wondering where he pulled that from, seeing as the LS2 is the same one found in the C6. Sure there is way more room for power but it's not being literally choked like the VT series II SS was with 40 less kw then the lowest rated LS1 in the USA.


    And that's some fuggin fast numbers, blows away anything remotly close to what Holden and Ford have done previously. Wonder what the Clubby will do on a good day (good bang for yer buck).
     
  5. holy crap, i seen an LS2 GTO today.... a black one.... it looked so.... TOUGH. i was very suprised. The scoops kinda make the car look bigger, like the front end somehow.
     
  6. was only that scuby guy from teh pedestrian council who was complaining. but thats no surprise because he complains about everything

    it is detuned, it doesnt even run extractors and there is little developement in the ecu. hsv wouldnt put a brand new engine in that has elready reached its full potential. that wont happen for another 4 or 5 years

    But that time does not suprising at all, makes the old GTS slow. Next GTS is going to be a qiuck bugger.

  12. That doesn't make it detuned, you git. You could say any #$%#ing car is detuned by your definition.
     
  13. I reckon its a bit early to speculate on the level of tune of the LS2...time will tell within the next 18 months as to how tuned they are.
     
  14. Where in the mag are the times? I had a quick flick through and didn't see any proper test. I'll read the mag properly later.

    at first i didnt really believe it, but seeing as the LS1 GTO was getting to 100 in about 5.3, and with the LS2 having 12kW and 50-odd nm more, it sort of started to make sense. weird though, seeing as the countrys fastest production car is an auto

  22. The R8 was manual and it got 5.6 and 13.78. It was raining though. Still, it was faster in the rain than the Gt was in the dry(they were tested on different days). Gt - 5.7 and 14.01
     
  23. The R8 auto is probably quicker than the manual now with the extra torque, seeing as you get a #$%#load of wheel spin with the manuals.

  25. It's not detuned at all. The only thing different from the C6 Corvette is the ECU (not the tune, the ECU itself, althogh it's probably very similar on both specs and base tune), and the exhaust from the manifolds back. The exhaust is obviously different to wrok with a sedan rather than a SWB coupe.

    I can onyl imagine the gain you'd get from a ful aftermarket exhaust and edit. Something along the lines of 40rwkw atleast. What a weapon.
