1. They tested this and said that they clocked the 0-60 time on this @ 3.77 seconds.

Why does the website say 4?

4. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

They most likely got 4.0 from Porsche... Porsche tends to low ball the #'s of their cars. Either way this machine runs sub 4sec times very consistently... Wait til the CGT gets tested, It'll run sub 4's in its sleep with a tired missing.

Ferrari and Mercedes also say their cars are slower than they actually are. I don't understand their reasoning. :/

CGTR...

From Motor Trend Mag:

"Porsche says the GT2 will accelerate from 0-60 in 4.1 sec. We say B.S. We've already gotten the heavier, less-powerful Turbo to beat feet to 60 in less than 4.0 (3.98, to be exact). So we're betting the lighter, more powerful GT2 can do 3.9. Or better."

I guess Porsche feels its better to let the GT2 do the talking rather than its engineers. I totally agree.

TechNSpeed,
I saw the Motortrend Television show on the speed channel and they said 3.77. I have subscription to Motortrend but haven't gotten the mag yet. Yeah Porsche should let GT2 do the talking for itself. Its doing a good job so far.

The GT2 can definately do sub-4 secs in 0-60 with ease. The GT2 can speak for itself very well. This is an awesome car, and my favorite Porsche.

porsche does it i don't know about mercedes and ferrari is the worst at overestimating it they claimed the f50 could pull 1.25 g on the skidpad and it only managed .95 in tests they also claimed 204 mph redline limited top speed while a magazine tested it and only got it to 194 and it hit the redline at 190.the 360 modena is posted on their web site as 4.0 seconds but the lowest i have heard of yetin tests is 4.3 but owell you were giving it a shot

14. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

Ferrari had never said that the 360 Modena does 0-60 in 4 seconds. I think you're thinking of the 360 Challenge. MotorTrend tested a 360 F1 to do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. That's the lowest I've seen. I can't speak for the F50 because I can't say I cared much about Ferrari when it came out in 1995. The only thing I cared about back then was Power Rangers.

Ferrari 360 Performance Specifications (from Ferrari's website):
Maximum speed over 295 km/h
183 mph
0-62 mph 4.5 s
0-400 m 12.6 s
0-1,000 m 22.9 s

18. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

Road and Track had numbers slower then the ones that Motortrend had...Which one is right? I'd probably believe Motortrend but I may be wrong.

19. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

they're tested under different conditions with different drivers
of course, if you're going for the maximum capability of gt2, the motortrend one is faster, meaning gt2 CAN go be that fast and stuff, but in real life, even if you do own a gt2, you will rarely get the chance or the skills to test this wonderful machine to the maximum capability...well, unless you are a professional driver i guess

gt2 rules by the way!

20. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

Yes I agree.

21. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

I'm not so confident in this Porsche's performance as some of you...!

22. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

You need to be confident because it is a Porsche for goodness sake.

23. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

yeah, but every machine has it's flaws. Even Porsches.

24. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

Thats true but I'd rather take courage in backing up a Porsche then take courage backing up a Ferrari because Ferraris are unreliable.

25. Re: MotorTrend Finally Tests It!!!

I agree with carrera GT racer with the part were his says Ferraris are unrelible

p.s. Gt2 kicks ass!!
