  1. Hemis are the BEST

    Hemi is the name of the heads. Hemis kick the living sh*t out of any ford or GM.

    hemis are the best and they go the best in barracudas and challengers and the 69 daytona charger. but it goes best in the barracuda.

    94 FORMULA, for a guy that seems to like bodies you are forgeting the 1973 Super Duty Trans Am that was a Hemi killer. It was the most under rated engine possibly ever built, even more than the Hemi's, this is due to the fact that Pontiac had no idea that they were even being built in there own factories. They got John DeLorean fired for breaking emissions standards and for using Pontiacs plants to make a race car.

    hmmm, well, it costs tens of thousonds of dollars to buy juar rhe f*cking engine, and if that's cheap to you, more power to you. otherwise, why don't you take a damn fiat and shove it up your ass, cuz you're definitely not gonna be able to afford any of the eurocars with hp anywhere near that of a hemi.

    anyway, i do agree that hemis are the best, i just don't know whether the cuda is better than the challenger or not, but who does?

    ummm, yeah...good stuff...drag races are the true form of battle between cars...one on one, straight line, the winner tastes the spoils of victory and revels in the loss of their opponent, the loser, walks away destroyed, left to wallow in their own crapulence...

    the hemi is a damn good car, if not, the best muscle car ever produced...euro cars lack the sheer brute strength and sex appeal that these american musclecars have, and i strongly doubt that a bmw or mercedes of the same years could take these cars out, its sheer dominance, no doubt. the hemi's, mustang's, corvette's, camaro's and oldsmobiles of the day could annhiliate the fastest of european cars of the day...stock...

    but u wannna compare new to old? well, soup up one of these babies so that the money spent on it is equal to the price of a euro car, and we'll see who wins...at least that way, its a fair duel...

    Proud Owner of a 1965 442
    4=400 4=4 barrel 2=dual exaugst
    The second 4 meant 4 speed only in 1964
    from 65 and up in meant 4 barrel

    IN 1965 Motor Trend tested a 1965 442 convertible
    It had 3.55.1 rear ratio and did a 5.5 second 0-60
    My 65 coupe is lighter and has 4.11.1 ratios so it should do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds

    The hemi in my opinion is the best motor EVER produce. It runs smooth and has tonss of balls! Unbelieveable power. When they introduced the 426, dodge finally did something right!

    Well... during that time... it was americas greatest era in cars. They dominated the roads... Hemi's were great engines. But dont count out the 440 Six Packs. They were running almsot the exact times as the Hemi's. Like around 10th or 2 of a second short.

    It is true the 440+6 is one of the most forgotten engine (sadly) but it cannot compare to 426s.

    In stock form, both engines were comparable but the 426 dominated once you started tuning.

    A friend of mine owns a Cuda w/ a 440+6. It runs great, sounds great and puts out enormous ammount of power.

    Our "engine guy" @ the garage owns a drag-only Cuda w/ a heavily tuned 426 hemi. Compression ratio is boosted up to 11:1 and the car also runs a 2-stage nitrous kit. When hitting second stage, he gets 1400rwhp.

    Even with excessive tuning on the 440+6, we could never get such power at the wheels...

    But! I still love the 440+6 and am looking to get one for myself, 426s are too expensive <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

    What you are forgetting is that this engine is using general motors components. I dont care what anyone says but general motors engine component were never as tough as chrysler, or any other kind for that matter. So even if this motor is faster than the hemi, which i doubt, it could never outlast a hemi, or cobra jet, or any other motor. Piece of junk gereral motors.

    i think if you tried hard enough you could get the power of a 440+6 equal to or above a 426 in both stock and tweaking stages. Just gotta know what you are doing.

    The 426 road hemi is a awesome engine...
    But I can t decide whether I should buy a cuda with a 426 street Hemi , 440 Magnum six-pack or a 383 Magnum...
    A 383 is much cheaper, and with some Perfo Parts it also kicks ass...
    We}ll see... First, I have to earn the money... I agree.
    The 426 road hemi is a awesome engine...
