ouch, that sucks...
I'm torn lol
btw, what walpaperstyle did you use for these? http://www.flickr.com/photos/45033431@N06/4791325193/in/photostream
Anyone have any opinion on the micro 4/3rds compacts ?
Looking to trade up from a point & shoot (and learn a bit more as I go), but not sure I can justify the size and price of a DSLR.
Panasonic GF2 looks like a good size, changeable lenses, plenty of settings...
youre a little late
im already torn
ended up not taking a single pic, just enjoyed all the cars.
next time I'll go on pressday and take my time to shoot.. <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
Too bad, but on the plus side this means I don't need to waste money on one. Sounds like it isn't really that much nicer to use than a micro 4/3rd. And they cost like half as much.
I might grab one with a pancake lens.
I am having weird focusing with my new D300s
Somebody has an idea of what is causing this ?
Raw converted in NX2 without any post processing
D300s 400mm 2.8 VRII 1/2000 F2.8
The sharp zone should be small but her it is just inexistant. If I set the sharpness to 7 on the body it is better but if it is "normal" I will be very disapointed.
Have you tried stopping down? Try at f/4 and f/8. Have you done controlled tests on a tripod to see if the lens is front focusing?
Stopping down doesn't work. On my slow tracking shots(1/60 F12 for example)you see this kind of blurr where it should be sharp too.
I'll try the af fine tuning
edit: It would be a shame to have to stop down on a 10 000⬠setup ...
Seems like there is a sharp area in the groud in front of the car, so maybe the AF isn't nailing the focus
hey more food ,
#$%#ing D300s that AF is shit next to the D2H <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A> !
I got better results with higher sharpening and a slight AF fine tuning.
Sorry if you don't have facebook (I hate that thing) it is just to share for my friends who were racing...
why is every shot tilted lol
Because I suck.
can't really see it in the picture, but basically a whole mountain is burning in my city <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/PitLane?displayFAQ=y"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="pitlane/emoticons/sad.gif"></A> there's been a lot of fires lately. i can actually see the fire from my bedroom window. it's very far but it's huge.
pic 1 is near my place, a few blocks uphill. in pic 2 i drove a bit closer to get a look. it looks huge in person.
Karting is too boring for just wide open shots to make photos look good.
Esp on a supermarket car park ^^
^I can dig that. I think it's a lil funky exposure cuz of backlight, but its a cool composition.
Thanks. It's DAD SISTER MOM.
This was taken through a the glass windows on the door of this little toy shop. Surprised it came out it all considering the situation and camera.
Both your photos remind me of something I would take. Are you working with film? I think i shoot a similar style
Yeah, both of those are film through my broken-ish Canon PELLIX QL. Finally dropped off a couple rolls from the Czech Republic. First is a train station in Prague, second is in a little toy shop in Cesky Krumlov, the most beautiful town I've ever seen. These are just a few shots from two of the seven rolls of film I shot over there. Really want to see what the rest look like, since I've honestly forgotten much of what I've shot.
EDIT: Oh yeah, meant to mention that I really like that second shot of yours. Though, I think I've said that before.
