Oh dear, ceramic brakes

Discussion in '2000 Porsche Carrera GT Concept' started by The LanEvo is a Legend, May 9, 2004.

  1. Testing of the new porsche ceramic brakes show that they can crack when used under pressure on the track. This problem is not covered by the porsche guarantee and replacements cost £27k! Porsche also offer these ceramic breaks (which are supposedly heat resistant!) on other porsche models (GT3) and some as standard (GT2.) The optional ceramic brakes cost an additional £6k! It has angered many porsche drivers/fans when they realise these brakes arent all they are cracked up to be, some are going back to steel discs. Has anyone had this problem with their porsche?
