There are more things than just a shift nob. Even if it was just that its collecters value goes through the roof. Long live the Viper!!!

I'm sorry but I have to say something: The Prowler only had that mark up for the first year as did the Viper....then they were sold at their intended prices. Keep in mind that this is not a new viper just a different edition. The Viper already had its mark up in 1992.

  3. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

Don't diss the M3...and the Dinan guy didn't say anything bad about the Viper...just that it's a rip off for the price...can't he have his own opinion? Grow up people...

"Your BMW is a POS compared to a Viper, i know i'd choose american muscle over any BMW anyday. "

    Hmmm....bias anyone?

You are saying that no matter what the cars are, you would take a car badged Dodge over a car badged BWM. What if the two madecars with identical performance, at an identical price, but the BMW was safer and better built, nadled better and more reliable (just for comparitive reasons). Youd still take the dodge?

If you said ud take a particular car, and gave a logical reson based upon the cars ability, then i would respect that statement. But to say a car is better simply because it's American, German, Japanese, or of any other nationality is complete lunacy.

I Think that only one thing determines how good a car is...the car itself. Not where4 it's made.

And let me guess..... A F-150 lightning is a better racecar then a BMW M3 right? because it's "american muscle"......<IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

    I rest my case...:|

P.s. I intend not to offend, but merely to make make a point that that this statement, along with many others, are decided on the basis of personal bias rather then facts..

  5. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

    Also...

U say this car is a rip off. That is your opinion. Your point is made, and understood. Others feel that the price tag is worthy for the rarity, sentiment, is image of the car. They believe that beign a last model makes it "special" and hence worth the extra cash. This point is also mande, and taken.

Neither of these points are wrong. It is up to an individual to decide whether it is a "rip off". Others say BMWs, Mercedes, and other such brands are rip offs because they dont believe its woth paying huge price tags for electric seats and leather. Others (such as myself) like the luxury and feel it is worth the cost.

My point is, its all about preference.

Finally, i would like to say, I dont like the Viper. BUT im not going to sit here and say its a rip off peice of shi#. This is because others may think otherwise. If you dont like the car, no ones forcing you to. We're not MAKING you buy it or drive it, or for that matter, like it. YOU dont like it, then dont buy it, or dont read about it or enter its forums.

Dont enter a forum to a car you hate, just to pay out its fans. I'm sure there are other who dont like the cars u like...please, show some respect. I dont show respect always, but i feel that i try my best to when it is due. And i respect the views of most people.

    P.s. Yes, I know i wrote alot...what can i say, i was increadibly bored...

Your an idiot, stupid BMW fan, this is a limited edition Viper to remember the original Viper before the new Vipers release(and i mean release <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">). Your BMW is a POS compared to a Viper, i know i'd choose american muscle over any BMW anyday.<!-- Signature -->

EliteWolverine, obviously you dont know much about the 2002 Z06...It has put out matching performance numbers of the Viper..Im not saying I dont like Vipers im just correcting Elite...Vipers are great cars and I would take one over the Z06..Im just stating facts.<!-- Signature -->

  14. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

you get a shift knob and a bad of potato chips. so NOT ONLY the shift knob <IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

  15. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

ok, the big question is that how much more is it then a regular '02 Viper? if it's maybe just a few grand more, up to maybe 10 grand more, then i say it's a good enough buy, but if they're going to charge over $100,000 for it, i think it is a rip off, just to get a shft knob, a plaque, and stripes, but the Viper is bad ass car, even though i'd never buy one (i'd get a skyline for that amount of money, jsut because it's so refined and excellent in every single way)<!-- Signature -->

  16. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

    100K? Nope.
The Viper can be had for about 70K, this is prob not much more.<!-- Signature -->

  17. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

What you aren't anticipating is the value for car collectors, Even if this is 10K more (putting it right around 85K) it would still be a bargain. Being that there are only 360 being produced it will undoubtedly have great value in the future. Don't get me started on the price-performance debate.
While the Vette Z06 is a great sports car it is NOT on par with the Viper. I could go on about this but I don't think my post would fit on the forum.

uh dude...the 2002z06 was tested by speedvision and it pulled 4.4sec 0-60...this car pulls 4flat...and this one has ten more bhp.

like i said nothing can beat this car for less...

and when i said the m3 sucks i didnt mean it literally...bucuz he was calling this car a rip off, when it performs better than the m3, so then he has contradicted himself...get it?

i think the m3 is very nice, would i buy one hell no, would i take one hell yea if it didnt have alarm on it, would i take it over this fck no, never in my right mind would i.

would i take the m3 over the z06 fck no again, would i take it over the 2003 cobra, hell no again.

the m3 is nice, but we got the m3 covered with many cars costing the same or less.<!-- Signature -->

  20. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

haha mark ups...so where do these outragous mark ups u talk about come from.

we have over ten thunderbirds right now prowling out streets...they didnt pay any more or less than what was stated in the mags...and this is the same for the viper.

vipers go for 66k-75k, 75k being the most i have ever seen one at the dealer....this one has a sale value of 73k from what the guys here at dodge say...so where u get ur info is beyond me buddy.<!-- Signature -->

  21. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

And how is the Viper, with great power, style and even good handling beyond many cars that cost more than it a rip off?<!-- Signature -->

  22. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

First off, let me state hard facts about the Viper and the 2002 Z06.

    Viper '03
    Engine 8.3L V-10
    Horsepower 500
    Torque 500
    Redline N/A

    Z06 '02
    Engine 5.7L V8
    Horsepower 405
    Torque 400
    Redline 6500rpm

As you can plainly see, the numbers speak for themselves. Also, if the Viper Final Edition IS marked up, don;t you think YOU would pay an extra $20K for such a rare and fantastic collector's item? I know if I had $100,000 and I wanted performance and exclusivity in a new car, I would look no further than this Viper.

but thats the problem...i dont know where u get ur markups from...if so plz post a link or a pic of the price or something...go to the dogde sites they show the msrp 72500...not 100k buddy. but u go ahead and think that.

just becuz a car performs extremely well...doesnt mean it costs alot, something euro and imports dont understand...making the ferrari cost 150k for something that gets nailed by the viper. hmmmmm but ok.<!-- Signature -->

  24. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

i looked at the prowler in 99 and that was after the first year and the 27,500$ mark up was still on it. and my neighbor works at the ford dealership in town he said they sold 3 tbirds at 10k over to a few gomers who just had to have them. and the MT guys asked a dealer how much they were markin them up and said 3 and the dealer said try 30. try reading you wont be nearly as ignorant. <!-- Signature -->

  25. Re: Oooh look a new shift knob... how much am I paying for this

I believe that there is a special edition M3 that was going to have the m5's V8 in it, but they decided to scrap that idea. So they have the same engine (with some modifications) and basically the same performance for about $300,000 if I am not mistaken. I also believe that the person who created this discussion is an avid m3 lover. Now, maybe, just maybe, you should come down off your pedestal and realize that BMW does the same goddamn thing, at even more of an inflated price. I am not 100% sure on the price, but I know it was something ridiculous, like most European cars.

By the way, all you people with your silly little quotes, are mindless morons, and most tragically, are psycologically dependant upon the pathetic, meaningless facades that you forge for yourselves on the internet.
