Paint it lime green and put a 120mm exhust tip on it.

Discussion in '2001 Honda Integra Type R' started by z28infront, Aug 9, 2002.

  1. And don't forget to put stickers on to show how fast it is, and the clear tail-light covers whatever that does. Just kidding although if it were a little wider with a lower profile and more horsepower it would be nice. This car looks a little too much like a civic, only it's not that ugly. I really wish Honda would make more cars like the NSX, and the S2000. Really FWD is not for me, I like to pass in turns and RWD is the only way to do that. I love American cars, but I respect all cars except civic and a few others.

hey man just chill on this fwd car cuz its the king of them also wat u are refering to is the bad part of the import scene those people are just dumb kidz going along w/ all of us like imports are a trend we call theses fools universals cuz they just strap thingz on there carsto look good and make noise most tru enthusiest are not like that also the fast& the furious is to elaborated its not the tru scene!!th type r is a true super car too cuz w/ its fwd and 220hp it will compete and take stangz cameros trans ams fire birds etc with only a few thingz done like full exhaust and intake so just give this car some respect!!!

You think that if u do some minor mods to your integra that it can beat a trans am? lets see.....

    Trans Am= 5.7 L v8, 325 bhp stock, a sh*tload of torque,

Integra= tiny a$$ engine, crappy traction off the line-fwd, 220bhp

I'm not saying that you couldn't make an integra fast enough to beat a trans am, but not with minor modifications, you'd need turbo, and some more crap to pull that off, oh yeah, and you better hope the trans-am doesn't have a chip, exhaust, or a supercharger in it.

  4. Re: Paint it lime green and put a 120mm exhust tip on it.

and yet is still ugly as sin, and has a big engine. whoopdie do. if i put a huge engine in a car and gear it correctly, ill be faster than a trans am. why does the new viper have more hp? because they upped the displacement 300cc. wow, thats really showing the world your intuitive engineering.

  5. Re: Paint it lime green and put a 120mm exhust tip on it.

I like the Integra's FWD. I would think that if I add a turbo 2.0 not a twin engine it would be awesome.

Are you an engineering student too? It seems that your sarcastic comment is contrary to what a lot of my engineering professors say. Do your professors really say that more complex, more moving parts and more expensive is better? I would move to a different college if that is what you are being taught.

I read a chinese magazine and it says that you can't just mod some of the new Type-R's parts. If you really want to mod, then you have to mod a lot of things because you WILL mess up the car's settings.

JDMViCsr20 said its the king of fwd cars. but my grandma has got a 300 hp fwd 96 cadillac with pipes and an intake (i swear to god she put it on herself too)that would eat this car up stock

oh wait, is the viper OHV? maybe thats what you are talking about. the DOHC in the Hondas. ohh...now i see. well the way i see it, the honda OHC engines prove over and over to be more reliable than even the moderately expensive pushrod corvette, along with most other domestics. in this case (and i agree with your point above) it seems that more complexity and more moving parts truly IS better. even in a plain old SOHC civic, they can last up to 250,000 miles with no major engine problems.

(sorry to be so wordy) but yes the pushrods are much more torquey and lighter and easier to work on, but they just seem archaic in design and it seems better to me to engineer more power into the already existing engine in the viper, rather than build a bigger "better" one.

all opinion, no sarcasm, i promise

ok so your telling me that if the worlds best driver drove this car it could beat a trans am in a drag race against your average street race? Could you also please inform me when you wake up to? anyway you act like i dont know that this car is in a differennt class of course i do but why dont you tell all the ricer out there to quite trying to make this car in a t/a class? its a waste of money o i drop 10 grand to make this as fast as a stock t/a now im kool hold on you forgot about all my nonfunctional scoops and my kool park bench on the rear and what about my body kit or my mirrors with turn singles on them now thats performance. what ever anyway it suckes either way there are only 4 good non domestic cars(my opinion)

  14. Re: Paint it lime green and put a 120mm exhust tip on it.

ahh i see what the problem is. i live in a town (just as you do, im sure) where people in civics, s10's, and cavaliers alike make their cars look "good" and "fast" and are just crap. a phenomenon we all call r!ce. you see, this car can easily be made to compete with a trans am. i know because i love my r!ce rocket and this is my hobby. but i am not a r!cer in the oh-so-negative sense that we all agree on. i have a civic. the only think i have changed, other than the engine/mods, is the wheels. i hate the honda wheel covers. but they are not chrome, they are not 20", and they look down to earth. i have no park bench, no coffee can muffler, and no stickers/japanese symbols. i know what my car is "powered by" and dont need reminding of it. i may be a r!ce burner, but i am not a r!cer.

with that said, this car can compete with the transam on a track. i would most certainly put up a spoon ITR against one. and have you forgotten the skyline or the rx7?

The ones released in the US aren't that fast, you are talking about the Japanese ones. The ones in the US are in the low to mid 6 second range.

yes but this ITR, the new generation of the integra, has yet to be released. its 0-60 is in the fives, but thats the best it can do, im sure. hey, fast enough for me.
