17. Quaife R4

The only picture of the roadcar I've ever seen.

600hp Ford V8
awd mid engine
tube frame chassis

built to race and that's about all I know
18. I have ap icture of sideview somewhere too.
Its very hard to find pictures of this car and quaife was unable to provide me with pics when I asked them.
19. post at your leisure, sorry to hear that. when was this? I might be tempted to contact them myself to try and get pics and maybe find out more about to what extent the car exists.
20. never even heard of the Quaife, nice car!
21. Interesting note about the drivetrain

to achieve AWD from the middle position, the motor is mounted backwards longitudinally, the gearbox extending toward the the cabin. This makes lots of sense actually because after some thought, this is about the only conceivable way to do it without running a drive shaft through a passenger seat or under the engine, making clearance an issue and ultimately preventing the car from being very low.

After doing some research, it would appear that both the Bugatti Veyron and Ford RS200 perform AWD midships in this way. The veyron even places it's centre diff up by the front diff for more balanced weight, closer to 5050 (as much as that probably pissed off people who think 50/50 isn't ideal. they're sort of right, 48/52 is generally considered more ideal )

Can anyone confirm this layout for the Murcie, EB100, and others?
22. Interesting note. When was the Quaife built?
23. 1998-1999 to race in british championship gt

in 2005 they made a sequel, the R40. I just learned about this today. It's 750kg and aparently powered by your choice of 4 cyls, duratec and motorbike sourced, as well as lotus V8 (rover v8, no?). however, I'm pretty sure it's RWD and open cabin. street legal, but it's fiberglass body (it looked kinda like a single piece) and lack of a roof sorta imply it's mainly for the track.
24. I have pics of the r40 also, but again, not very many and its not much to look at. It looks like the Linea Gam roadster alot.
