  1. I hate to use such profanity, but, adultmalecowsnot!
It would be great for such a claim to be (factual?).
I can't believe a street legal road machine, even a Corvette, would
have the acceleration of a 1200 pound 500 minimum horsepower INDY car!
Unless perhaps THE 3000+ POUND monster had wheele bars at the time at which it was tested. Even still thats not street legal. Even more still unless they are used just for fun or ya have something along the lines of a 707ci. wet and fogger nitro injected big blown beast
I believe they should be restricted on the fact that they take much fine-ness and skill out of the very important launch thus making the whole-shot a far more simpler goal to attain.

Please dont get me wrong though! Wheele bars will often make for a better race, but, I'm a very firm beliver in skill. And let me tell you why... skill is the very thing that makes anything, wether it be racing or painting, philosofy or fighting; ANYTHING an art.
With racing inpreticular skill creates (compitition?), compi... compa...battle begets love or hate even and that (in racing) brings evolution and evolution is what the automotive world is all about.
So... I ask you where would the AUTOMOTIVE culture be without skill?
Thusly, wheele bars I believe take far to much away.

  2. LAWMAN9C1 I couldn't tell if that was a 800TT that 427Vette stompped.
I DID see that 9.7 at 144 though!!!!

  3. I stand corrected, this Saturday I saw on Motor Trend (or something) that very Linginfelter Vette HA!HA! being tested against a F/A 18 strike eagle.... kinda silly but it did outrun it in the 0-60 at 1.9 and the 1/4 at 9+. Oh yea, it had a topspeed of 230 mph!!
My (apolagies?) for any unneeded language or lack of belief.

What the hell? You don't race cars against f*cking Jets!!!! That is so gay. Not to mention the F/18 is not an Eagle MORON. The F/A 18 is the Hornet, or the Super Hornet in the case of the
F/A 18/E or the F/A 18/F! Second of all, that must have been on a runway (obviously) The F/A 18 is a carrier based design, made to be launched with catapults so it is not designed for High Speed Runway take offs. Not to mention if the Hornet (assuming that is what was really use, you are so F*cking confused I don't know) would have killed the vette if it used full throttle. i.e. Afterburners!!!!

Although I don't deny that it is fast. American Muscle is the way to go, you just ned to get your wires uncrossed.
Also the tops speed was only 150 MPH not 230 you f*cking Idiot. That is why it accelerates so fast. All the power is geared for acceleration!!!!!
    F*cking @ss licking coc WH0RE!!!!<!-- Signature -->

  5. First of all clam down MERAUDER.

Hey! it wasn't me that raced it against a f/a 18 HORNET.
And it DID have a 230mph topspeed.
And it DID get stompped after 150mph but what do ya expect from the equivalent of 500,000hp.
I wonder what crawled up yours!
Wouldn't surprise me if it was a CHEVY that raped your ass, ya typical fu*cking Ford fu*ck

Ya judge me like ya know me.
    Shit not about confused I'm.

  6. "Also the tops speed was only 150 MPH not 230 you f*cking Idiot"

You must be talking to yourself again ;P

  7. ok i agree to some aspect that a viper is slightly better then the Z06 but there is one corvette that would take a viper out to lunch then leave it at a train station with out a ticket!!!
and that vette is the 1986 chevy callaway sledgehammer!!!!! any one agree e-mail me

  8. Yeah, Sledgehammer rules, its been 15 years and no one has yet to beat it's record with a streetable car<IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

  9. haha vipers actually SUCK!!!!!!

  10. the top speed was not 150 mph nor was it 230 mph it was 240 mph i have the magazine right here in fron of me as i type so i know this is true<!-- Signature -->

  11. i think chevrolet is makin a mistake. this 50th anniversry isnt as good as the past vettes. dont get me wrong i love corvettes, my dad has one. im sure the '04 will be better.

  12. you know what. the ford gt40 will destroy both of them. secondly the vette is better than the viper. you can stick with your numbers and shit and all but you dont know if your figures are real or accurate. thirdly where the #$%# did you get the regular corvette 0-60 in 3.9?? even a z06. even mt has 4.6 listed and 0.98 g and 1 g for the z06 and i think a 1.02 g. simply put its a MUSCLE CAR. gt40 is the real american racing car ...and i'm not even that much of a fan of american muscle

  13. Car and Dirver tested Z06 at 4 flat. They said 3.9 was obtainable. The GT40 will beat the Corvette... yes... but so what? If your the above average joe looking for something to kickass at the track, you aint gonna go for no GT40. Leave the GT40 to kick Ferarri/Porsche/Lamborghini's asses back across the ocean.

  14. early 2003 the sixth generation corvette is supposed to be released as a 2004 model it is rumored to have an optional engine called the ls88 with over 500 hp so if this is true the viper is going down without using the zo6 and the gt40 may follow .<!-- Signature -->

  15. Vette's and Vipers the future of american muscle its great.... The Z06 is the best car for its money in my opinion for the people that cant spend a shit load its great.<!-- Signature -->

  16. I've heard rumors that the stroked and bored 427 will be an option soon. The Tigershark Vette created as an unofficial concept in 01' had this engine and produced 650 hp on 92 octane. GM also has a 750 hp 12 cylinder that weighs little more than the LS1. Also gets 19 to 27 mpg. with it's power on demand system that shuts down 6 cylinders when they're not in use. Also produces 90% of it's 450 ft. lb. of torque at 1,500 RPM's which makes it one quick ***** off the line. What GM really needs to improve this car is a midengine configuaration. Mosler plopped an LS1 (345 hp version) into a midengine car called the MT900 and did 0-60 in 3.5 sec. The car now has a tuned LS6 that puts out over 440 hp. Don't know what the 0-60 time is now. You can check out the Tigershark, the GM's V12, and the MT900 in November issue of Super Rod mag. I'd love to see a Vette that could take on the 500 hp Viper.

  17. The viper has better handling, but other than that they're about the same, though the viper costs like $30k more. i also like the viper's styling a bit more, though it's cool how the present corvette's styling echoes the first-generation corvette's.
