it doesnt just matter about bhp to weight ratio for these cars, u also have to take in to affect the downforce, so it probably does only go 400kmph, lol!!<IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

You just don't know what you're talking about. The C11 was the 1990 world champion of prototypes , it was a group C prototype , this car went at 363kmh at Le Mans in 1991.
i'm pretty sure that a car with an engine that powerful and a weight that low would do the 1/4 mile in 7.93 secs. now that's pretty damn fast.<!-- Signature -->
It is fast but the Mercedes Sauber C9 actually went faster in the actual race it hit 248mph in the 24hours race in 1989 which is the second fastest top-speed ever at Le-Mans. The fatestt speed ever officially recorded at Le-Mens during the race was set the year before by the WMP 88 which hit 251.14mph on the straight before over shooting the chicane.
Third fastest : 962C with 243.01mph (1988) Fourth fastest : XJR 9 with 241.765mph (1989) Fifth fastest : WM P87 with 236.793mph (1987)

I'm perplexed. According to my sources the 240mph were only reached in 1988 , with the WM P88 and 962C (many some other ars did it that year , I only got the fastest). The 917 record seems to be 362kmh (224.98mph) in 1971 on Les Hunaudières, but my sources can be wrong , altough they seem very serious.
to F40 GTE and anybody else who thinks weight has any effect on top speed..... velocity = cubed root of (2 x Power / Cd x A x d) (this formula is a defining physical equation, not some helpful guesswork like the ones that work out 1/4 times) velocity in metres per second power in Watts (not kW) Cd = co-efficient of drag A = frontal area in square metres d = density of air in kilograms per metre cubed so could somebody please point out where MASS comes into the equation above? the only thing mass has an affect on is acceleration, because a = f / m
