  1. Ford XR6 Turbo will blow this away...

    The new Ford XR6 Turbo, with an estimated 210kw, with a lot more power to be obtained, will blow this piece of shit Holden out of the water...

    Just wait till Holden and HSV actually start trying to increase the output of the GEN III rather than decrease it. 242 rear wheel kw was achieved in a VX SS without even removing a rocker cover...and no, there wasn't forced induction or NOS either.<!-- Signature -->
     
  5. So whats your point hsv is slower and will be for another 5 or so yrs at least. i dont see a 260kw ss only a 240kw or whatever it was that you said someone got.

By the way, HSV is not slower and there is no reason to believe Ford will have faster cars within the next five years.<!-- Signature -->
     
  7. Why do you Holden idiots only just look at power figures. A Falcon canes Crappadore in the handling and now with state of the art engines and suspension (not like those antique pushrod anchors Holden use), it just makes Crappadore even lamer in comparison.
     
  8. Fantastic...first of all Falcon doesnt cane Commodore in handling, it may be slightly ahead but there's no big difference...and you also might like to know that the "antique" pushrod 3.8L V6 Executive is quicker and more fuel efficient than Falcon.

    VY SS 235kw. XR6 240
    VY CLUBSPORT 270kw XR8 260kw
    VY GTS 330kw Compared with Tickfords replacement companies 310-320.

    HSV's still got the power advantage. But I'd buy a XR6 over the SS now for the tuning potential. But if you want a T car or HSV, HSV's still got the power on their side.

True but The XR8 is the SS' competitor, Tho I'd Still prefer a HSV over FPV knowing as much as I do, because they have more of a range, IF FPV only have the 2 GTs and the Persuit Ute, that for me is not enough to compete with HSV. But Ford will be beating Holden in most areas (probably not sales) If you can convince many Holden buyers that a BA is better than a VY, then they will still pick Holden. Ford should bring in the GT, and the Ute, but they should keep an FPV car like a TE50(or TS50) even if it only has the same power as the XR8, The AU T-series Falcons should still be a better all around car than the XR8 Boss (for performance)

    It's a good time to re-live the GT, but they still need another car in the FPV line-up, maybe even a less powerful GT, with only 275kW or so. They need to have another car in the line up to really have a run at HSV

  13. Yeah dude, I've got an SS rated a tad over 300kw. Now its either a head and camshaft package netting about 340 or just going straight for the supercharger job out to about 390. But $ for $ the turbo's cheaper cause its standard.

    Ahh well, don't matter. Can't wait till I get to blow off a new XR6 in my BMW <A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/smile.gif"></A>
     
  14. So, there is still many mods you can do to a N/A to keep up with turbo cars.

  18. Not sure, no one has done much in that department so far in Australia. I have seen a VT II Clubbie in a mag stroked to 6.3L though. The guy also had a blower, intercooler and NOS, didn't do a full power run as it wasnt run in but during tuning it made 260kw@3000rpm at the wheels

    I've also seen a HEC 5.0L V8 stroked to 6.3L too.
     
  19. That's cool, but i've sene a VL calais with 280kW at the wheels. that means 400kW at the engine, but still that's not too bad. wth NOS it's a bit disappointing, but ah well i know HOlden have soem really worked engines with 1000hp.

  20. Yeah I've got a stash of street commodores magazines and the VL has been done to death. The reason why when I was looking for a car I didn't look at VL's.

  23. It's good that Ford are starting to kick some arse, that way Holden will have to improve their game and we'll have better cars because of it.

    I'd still buy the XR6 Turbo over this by the way.
