1. THIS CAR GIVES ME A HARD ON.

  2. What Diablo went 220 mph at Nardo? The 6.0? The original VT from '93 can do 212 mph, so I wouldn't be surprised. When Road&Track tested the Mclaren F1 they found out it could "only" reach 217 mph (as if that were slow); they said the final gear could have been longer, and then it might be able to reach 230. But as it is, a stock Mclaren F1 can go "only" 217 mph. That's still fast, but then the Diablo 6.0 can actually go faster. Ofcourse, then the Mclaren F1 went 231 at Nardo as well. Perhaps Nardo is slightly inclined?

(The Mclaren F1 was claimed to go 240 at Ehra-Leissen test track, but the rev limiter was disabled on that car, so a totally working stock F1 can not do that)

Hmmmm. I would think the Murcielago should be able to top the 6.0, or else it must have extraordinary acceleration.

  3. I am going to miss the Diablo as well. It has been a favorite of mine since it came out. I find the styling of this new car a bit lacking. I still think Lamborghini did a good job with the new car. Though I hate to say it, the Diablo was definately aging.

  4. Woops, scratch that a stock Mclaren F1 can only do 217. I forgot to say that Road and track later found out that the final gear for that particular F1 was in fact a little shorter than normal, so a stock Mclaren could probably go as fast as 231 mph. But I still can't wait 'till the Murcielago is tested for top speed.

  5. This is a nice car although Diablo boosted Lambo to what it is today so I think they will bring it back.. This is not the end.

  7. hey all u Lambo fans, we gotta let go of the Diablo, it is almost gone now, we gotta understand that this isn't exactly what any of us expected. but u gotta understand that Lambo isnt going to just make an updated Diablo, this car will evolve, and in the end will become the best supercar in the market!!!!! cars like the Zonda C12s are good but they dont have the heritage of the Lambo line!!!!!! Wait u wil se in a couple of years what Lambo will do!!!!!

  8. Yes well looking to the future is all well and good, but I'm still not there. Snyper, where did you here that the Diablo went 220 at Nardo? And was it the 6.0 for sure?

hey man i do get ur point
but all dat i am sayin is dat it wont be easy to foget the Diablo.
    agreed?????

  10. i agree, i certainly wont forget it!!!!!!!!! but as we all know when its gone its gone, none of us can do anything to change that!!!!!!! Hopefully we can all agree that the Diablo was one hell of a car, but it has had its day, now we have something lighter, more powerful, more agile, and faster, lets be happy with what we got!!!!!!!1

oh and to answer ur question, the diablo was a 6.0, and was driven by Nik Berg, to test "car safety".

if u want any more info just ask, not an expert but will try to help as much as possible!!!

  11. Hey man the diablo is a great car just because its top speed is .6 of a mph slower does not mean anything. My diablo is a great car and could beat half the cars out there stock. Every body thought the Countach was gone when the diablo came out it didnt go any where though. Its a hot car and i will always love mine.

  12. Im sorry...i am not taking this as well as all of you guys. Since I could remember(Im 17) the Diablo was my favorite car...everything about it...I didn't care if McLaren beat it or if it wasn't as agile as a 911 turbo, it was my favorite car. I heard it was going away I felt comfortable. I thought that since the diablo was 10 years old that a new state-of-the-art Lambo would be twice as good...I was wrong...as far as I can see...the specs are about the same and the design is not what I was hoping for...instead of an innovative design they made it look like an 80s car..im not saying this car sucks...3.8 seconds is awesome...but its just disappointing.

tru tru.......diablo is one hell of car.....da only difference between it and da muricello iz dat it has more hp per litre...giving a ".1" second advantage over da muricello

all the reason y it wont be gone......lambo fans....beware

  14. Peace out diablo. I don't like this nearly as much, maybe in time it'll show its character but this thing just looks like another computer made car. From these pics it looks like a stretched out gt90, not saying thats bad but these designs are starting to get recycled.

. This new car looks nice. It has good specsm but looks alomost the same as the new daiblos, I think Lambo needs some new designers.

My thoughts exactly. Don't get me wrong, this is a sweet car, but I would like to see Lambourgini design a car that doesn't look so similar to a stealth bomber in that it has enough edges and geometrical shapes to give a Geometry profesor nightmares

  16. just wate until they make a vttt

  17. Good call Rapier(page 2, replying to my comments about Lamorghinis 360 beater) --did you read the March 2001 issue of Sports Car International as well?

  18. Your wrong if you would look at the 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT you will see that the car goes faster then that the car hit 210 but no Lamborghini can top the McLaren F1 or 1988 the Chevrolet Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette.

  19. the new murc's cool...but i think they should leave out the all-wheel-drive next time. i personally think, real supercars are always rear wheel driven, thats just my opinion. at least make an rwd variant, right.
