No Subject the acceleration of the old GT2 is better than the acceleration of the new GT2!?!? that is a suprprise for me! i thought the new one is better. so i was wrong...
The new GT2 is faster but supercars didnt update the specs they are from the factory and they always under estimate the car the new GT2 has more horsepower a 0-60 time of 3.6 sec and a top speed of up to 200 mph
the reason the old gt2 has a faster 0-60 time is because of the power to weight ratio, because the new gt2 is heavier its a little bit slower 0-60. Is it just me or does the old gt2 look much better than the new gt2
The older looks better IMO. The 993 always appealed to me much more than the 996. The 996 doesn't look half as good. <!-- Signature -->
Those times r wrong. The new one needs 4.1 sec. from 0-100 kph, the old one 4.4 sec. sc mostly overrates the cars.<!-- Signature -->

The new one is faster because its 0-60 time is 3.6 seconds. You are using the factory times. If you know Porsche, then you know that their times are very modest and that they are often beat. How could the 993 GT2 make it to 60 in 4.4 seconds when the 993TT does the same in 3.9 seconds? Thats because your wrong. The correct times: 993 GT2 - 3.7 seconds; 996 GT2 - 3.6 seconds *****It is true that 0-60 times vary according to many conditions including temperature, elevation, pressure, and humidity and driving style. The standards are sea level, 60 degrees F, 0% humidity, and 29.92 in of mercury. According to these standards, the two cars perform as above******
The correct weight of a 993 GT2 road version are 1290 Kg 95 spec. got 430 HP and the 98 spec. got 450 HP. both cars are abit quicker that the 996 GT2 in term of the acceleration . 0-100 KM/h. 1/4 mile .
actually no, theres no such thing as a '98 GT2....the GT2s actually came out in 95 or 96, having 430hp and weighing just 1235kg at the kerb, RWD as opposed to 4WD of the stock TT in '98 came the Turbo S, with 450hp and slightly lower weight than the TT, but much more than the GT2 ive actually seen a road test of the stock 993TT doing 0-60 in 3.7, its faster than the 996TT Road & Track tested an '02 GT2 and got 0-60 in 3.6 has anybody actually seen a road test of the '96 GT2???
993 looks more muscular and aggressive IMO, but I still like te 996 GT2 and it is faster than the 993 hands down maybe not by much but it still is.

Please also find a link about the 993 GT2 98 specs http://www.autoweb.com.au/id_POR/doc_por9712241/article.html A clubsport may be weight around 1235Kg ,but not a standed 993 GT2.It was for model year 95 and 96. but I belive some how the production was delay. The last unit of LHD 993 GT2 was producted on early 97. And my car was produced on early 97
the old gt2 is indeed faster than the new one because his power-to-weight ratio is beter, but the 996 gt2 has more torque so it's "easier" to drive in (hum, hum) nomal traffic. And the 996 gt2 has a bit more luxery and has a greater topspeed 0-100 times of 3.6 sec are achieved in optimum conditions(cold wheater-trackday tires,....) so it's not likely you'll get those times with the standard porsche's but hey, 4.1 seconds is fast enough for me.
The new one is faster in every test so far. This car looks a little better in my opinion, I like the look of the air-cooled 911s. Someone said they read a test where a stock 993TT went to 60 in 3.7? That is just wrong, The Turbo S could achieve 3.7 not the standard turbo. I would like to get a 993TT and put the GT2 bodywork, tune up the engine a bit that way I can have the utility and driveability of the Turbo with the raw performance of the GT2. Oh yeah!
