Re: NSX vs. VIPER (quality vs. crap?)

  1. a propósito, yo prefiero el NSX, el viper debe gastar muuuuucha gasolina... y si, la mayoría de autos Americanos dan más problemas que los europeos y asiaticos, así que es, al final, cuestión de gustos.

  2. i've been in a viper and found the quality to resemble a ford f-150. it shakes and rattles more than rosie'o donnel on a dance floor. the only and i say again ONLY thing the viper has over the nsx is the straight line power. i've also been in a nsx, and the nsx is built like a vault, runs like a honda accord, and performs like a ferrari. how many supercars can get 300,000 km out of them? nsx hands down. its like comparing a hemi cuda to a type -r integra, just on a larger scale....

  3. Re: NSX vs. VIPER (quality vs. crap?)

Because they are building the new ones. The old ones are outdated. However, when they were owning Le Mans and raping every other vehicle out there, they were still outdated. The Viper is an outstanding car by any one's standards, you cannot deny it. I can also say, in addition to that, that the NSX is also good.

  4. Wow, I'm impressed:O. A viper fan who doesn't think the NSX sucks, good job, stick around buddy<A BORDER="0" HREF="http://www.supercars.net/emoticons.html"><IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://speed.supercars.net/cboardhtml/emoticons/wink.gif"></A>

  5. I'll 2nd that one! Open-minded people rule! ^_^

  6. First of all, are u talking about the nsx or the type-r version of nsx? if u are comparing the normal nsx and the viper...i would say the viper would win on open road. especially 0-60 and 1/4 miles...but not on track...otherwise things will be totally difference..

  7. even though the normal nsx would be the viper on track, especially the tracks that have low speed corners.

Viper its good, but really depends on where u'r drive it

  8. The comparison of a random stanger's viper to his NSX is about the most inacurate and biased measure of reliability. The owner of these cars is no expert to give such an opinion, nothing more than an amature. Secondly how you do you know he doesnt run the hell out of the viper, or maintains it properly? etc. Some other things to keep in mind are that 500lb-ft of torque from the viper V10 is going to take its toll on many parts. Also a viper engine is probably pretty high maintainece, which means it requires attention but doesnt make it unreliable.

People need to let go of the sterotypes. Ford, GM and Chrysler have so little in common that it is unfair to assume that they will all preform exactly the same. Therefore the sterotype that "American cars are unreliable" is a false assumption, as is judging any car by where it comes from.

This is all in defence of the viper and to dispell the myth that every american car is unreliable NOT to take anything away from the NSX.

  9. Ah, but Dodges ARE unreliable, at least in my experience 80's/90's Dodges are.

  10. Re: NSX vs. VIPER (quality vs. crap?)

If you look at cars registered from late 70's to now, out of the Americans, the Ram is the longest registered out of the Big 3 of trucks. many have different inferences about this. But to me it means only one thing, Dodge Rams last hella long making a new purchase or a trade in obsolete. The only Dodge that is totally sh!t, is the Neon, falls apart faster than a "Made in Taiwan" toy.

  11. Sorry, I guess I was a bit unclear, when I say Dodges are unreliable, I'm referring to the cars. Dodge, Ford, and Chevrolet trucks are great as far as trucks go, but since I'll always own a car (but will only own a truck once I have a good enough career going to afford a $40,000+ truck on top my cars of preference), I look mainly at the reliability of cars.

Aside from the Neon, there's the Dodge Aspen, the Dodge Shadow, the Dodge Caravan (though as far as minivans go, this one does impress me, just don't expect to own one 5 years after it's rolled off the showroom floor), and the Dodge Spirit, Dodge Daytona, which I've found to all be pretty much crap in my experiences.

LOL, yep, those little plastic toy cars have a tendency to fall apart pretty quickly once you've pulled them back a few times.

  12. Re: NSX vs. VIPER (quality vs. crap?)

Yeah, I guess that's why they don't make them anymore, lol! Wit the Neon, however, Dodge rumors that it has drastically improved the quality w/ the SRT-4. I still think Neons are gay and nobody should buy any sub-compact.

  13. The proof is in the pudding, though it wouldn't be difficult to improve the quality of the Neon, so I wouldn't be surprised.

As for sub-compact cars, if you had a 4 member family, if you only had enough money to buy one car (and ignoring price difference) would you rather own a Viper (2 seater hardcore sports car that's great for the street and track), or a Dodge Caravan (no performance, but seating for 7 and tons of storage room), or an STI (seating for 5, reasonable storage room, and great performance both on AND off-road)?

The performance minded individual with the slightest bit of intelligence would go with the STI, as it's a fair compromise between practicality and performance.

So, if you look at it this way, sub-compacts do have their niche.

BTW - if you're wondering why I used the STI over the Neon, it's because the STI has more interior space, and better performance, and is more family oriented at the same time.

  14. Re: NSX vs. VIPER (quality vs. crap?)

True, true...but if I ever have kids (which I don't really want) their punk asses aren't gunna compramise my ride, lol. Password, your accusations actually have a basis, so you have earned my respect.

  15. Excuse me i'm A big fan of the Honda NSX-R but come on a civic and Honda Odysses suck and you know it. Now the Viper is a very nice car and the NSX is to but in the long run your probably spending the same amount on both cars so its really up to what you would prefer. But if i had my pick it would be a Nissan Skyline R-34 SPEC 2

  16. It doesn't matter how fast a viper can go in a line. Around the track, the NSX is king, and it's 13 years old! The NSX is a beautiful handler, and is extremely Balanced, good brakes, suspension, engine.

The viper, on the otherhand, has the worst set of brakes imanganable. It simply takes forever to stop, there is a lot of fade, and the car also feels heavy and ponderous. The Vette owns it around the track as well, and the firehawk[!] even beat it around the track. It's more for crusin than for racing.

  17. Re: NSX vs. VIPER (quality vs. crap?)

Woa, woa, woa, woa, woa..are these pre-ABS or post-ABS Vipers? Sure, the brakin isn't up to par with the NSX, nor do many others come close. But you have to remember the Viper is has the FR layout, and has a tremendous amout of torque. So, of course there is gunna be an undesireable affect in te steering dept. In closing, the Viper IS a damn good car!

  18. But will be very hard to keep under control under fast turns?

  19. Only if u r not used to something with this type of layout.

  20. HAVE YOU PEOPLE LOST YOUR MINDS??
IN THE NAME OF ALL THINGS HOLLY PLZ END THIS POST.
THE VIPER WOULD MURDER THE THE NSX
I LIKE THE NSX AND ALL, ITS A NICE CAR
BUT THE NSX ISNT EVEN IN THE SAME CLASS AS A VIPER
THE VIPER HAS WAY MORE HORSES UNDER THE HOOD AND EXCELLERATES ALMOST
A WHOLE SEC AND A HALF FASTER THAN THE NSX
AND IF YOU WANT TO COMPARE THE CARS YOU GOT LOOK AT THE FACT
THAT THE NSX IN THIS FORM HAS SOME MODS UNDER THE HOOD THATA WHY THERE ISNT THAT MUCH INFO ON THE CARS PERFORMANCE
    IN THIS FORM.
BUT IF YOU COMPARE THIS NSX TO THE VIPER HENESSAY TWIN TURBO THEN THERES REALLY NO COMP
IN MY OPINOIN THIS IS A BAD COMPARISON

  21. Your right this is a bad comparison, the viper would eat up the NSX for breakfast... What is all this BS quality vs. crap???? Ill admit the older vipers didnt have a whole lot of handling etc... but have you seen the 2k3 SRT-10?? That car would kill the nsx, as far as handling, the NSX is said to be extremly well, but the Viper is also said to be excellent, way better than previous vipers. So i cant even compare it. It doesnt matter anyway, even if the NSX could slide by the viper around a corner, the guy in the viper would only have to pump the pedal a little and VROOOOOOM goodbye.

  22. Haven't seem the exact figures and videos, so dun know what to say

  23. Yeah, as the rear end of the Viper comes out, it spins around, and the driver loses control, and then the race.

  24. the Viper might have the power, and sure it will probably take the NSX in the 1/4 mile run, but i believe that the NSX will kill the viper in the tracks.
