1. The lexus SC430

2. This or S-2000??

They're both pretty much the same...Throw a big as.s touring style spoiler on this bad boy and i've made my decision!!

3. i like the s2000 betterm this probably has bad top speed knowing the rpm sucks, 0-60 kinda sucks too

4. I take this for several reasons. 1. It has a V-8 (Sounds much cooler than a 4-cylinder). 2. It has 72 more horsepower than an S2000. 3. It's easier to live with. 4. Gets better torque at lower rpms (I don't mind the fact that the S2000 is a revver, but my eardrums can only take so much). 5. It has an automatic HARD TOP, in other words, it's an all weather car. My one quip about this car though. IT NEEDS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. At least the IS300 is going to be available with a manual soon.

5. dude why not compare a sl 55 to a Z3 shit,
its no comparison the S2000 kills it
250 hp in a 4 banger with less weight. No torque no problem im controlling the shifts so I never have to b under 6000 unless taken off.

Not to mention the removable hard top weighs about half the electric trick 1 on this, I won't lie is a bad motha #$%#a but S2000 beats this go round

6. For speed I will go for the S2000. For luxury I will for the SC430.

7. with that v8
and the fact that it has more torque than horsepower shoes that this car is capable of killing cars that are way better than the s2000

8. This has better looks and feel. Oh course the SC430!!

Exactly the kind of post I'd expect from a riceboy with a Type-R badge under his name. Torque doesn't matter, huh? hmmmm, right.... Lets see you launch a rwd car at more than 6000rpm w/o spinning rubber. And without torque it boggs down at lower rpm. The SC430 is not a competitor for the S2000 anyway! It's a powerful and classy luxaury car. Please don't post if you are an idiot.

10. The Lex will kill the S2K. More power, more than enough extra power to make up the weight. The S2K might even out accelerate this at first (might) but top end it will get slaughtered. Its not even a fair comparo. That est 6 might be way off too.

11. ill take the s2000, it is a much better performer in every way as far as performance goes. these cars arent even close to the same class though, one is a small high revving pocket rocket, the other is a large luxo cruiser.

12. Definitely the Honda S2000 over this car.

13. This V8 powered roadster simply craps over any shitty torqueless 4 banger!

14. if i was 5 yrs younger and was still in highschool, definitely the S2000. but now, i need the extra carbo space in the back of the sc430 so i'll take the lexus, stick a Greddy T-88 turbo in it and outrun s2000s.

15. OK, here lets start a new comparo, for cars that were actaully meant to be compared with each other. This sweet ass Lexus vs. A Mercedes SL. Thats what I would like to hear about. Comparing this to an S2000 is like comparing a Power Wheels toy against a Tricycle.

Finally someone said it! Thankyou.

ofcourse theres gonna be hardcore street racers sayin s2000 and ofcourse the high class/v8 fans goin for the lexus.
The s2000 puts out some damn hosepower for a 4 cyclinder, plus it can be easily twin turbo'd and would still cost a LOT less than the lexus.
The lexus weighs 38,3900 pounds thats a lot seeing the s2000 is almost 1000 less! performance wise im saying the S2000 althought the Lexus would be a hella phat ride.

Why would you twin tubo an Inline-4? And now turbo conversion is easy. The plumbing and internals are different to a large degree.

18. After careful consideration, I'd probably select this car, but it was a tough decision. If I was going to purchase it, I would probably get the S2000 for performance, since the SC430 almost weighs 4000 lb., and the rear seats are so f*cking small that there's only room for infants and toddlers, very young children, or people who are legless. The SC430 has an edge in the styling compartment, and I would rather pimp around in a luxury Lexus instead of a economy class S2000. Plus, the SC430 has a V-8, better than that inline-4 that the S2000 has. And of course, no doubt at all, I'd pick the SL (any model), but then again, how will I afford it?

Twin Turbo a stock S2000 engine?

Get a clue you #$%#ing ric3boy.

The S2000 has a very high compression ratio. Add anything more than say 5 pounds of boost and your S2000 wouldn't get off the block before blowing its head gasket.

Thats why the supercharger kit for the S2000 runs such a low level of boost.

As for the weight issue....
The Ford Lightning F-150 tips the scales around 4,600lbs and yet with an automatic transmission it can run the 1/4 mile at 13.2 seconds which is far faster than the S2000. Hell thats faster than the Supra TT, 3000GT VR-4, 300ZXTT.

Damn your a stupid #$%#.

20. I would take this over the S2000. Better power, reliability, style, comfort... you get the idea. The S2000's revving seems like a small thing until you drive one, then you wish it would just shut up.

21. I would definatly take this over he S2000 anyday

22. Both the cars are lovely is al respects, i love Lexus and all their brands, but the S2000 is a real looker, one helluva performance car.
Stop comparing the power outputs, the S2000 is a 4Cyl Engine hellloooooo.
SC430 is not a V8 tuned for all out performance, it embodies sheer luxury, the car is not even aimed specifically at the performance car market...
I think it's an absolute priviledge that this Japanese Car has been chosen as Pace Car for this prestigious Indy Car.

My Verdict on the SC430, "Lexus have now achieved their relentless persuit of perfection!"

23. These cars are not in the same class. First of all the prices are not even close and then the S2K is a pure sports car, with great handling and acceleration, sure it lacks large displacement and gobs of torque, but its a high revving car and can keep its own on the track for not much money. The SC430 is a luxury cruiser which is large heavy, has tons of goodies, powerful (but not extremely fast) convertible, which is more about show than performance. To compare these cars is a joke. Bang for buck sportscar wise I would take the S2000, while I'm young. If i was an old man with gobs of money burning a whole in my pocket and i cared more about style than speed, and I didn't want anythign super fast(which for $70,000, there are a helluva lot faster cars) I would take the SC430.

24. S2000

25. OK first of all, the two cars are not in the same class, so you cannot compare them. The SC pace are is a PACE CAR, the S2000 is a ROAD CAR. and plus if you compare the street SC, it would still be unfair because the SC costs almost 3 times the S2000.
