WELL, COMPARING A FERRARI AND A TT IS ALSO STUPID!!

    - Do you know what car to compare the ferrari with? Maybe a Porsche 911 Turbo.

    - Do you know what car to compare the TT with? The Mercedes SLK or the Honda S2000.

Maybe you should learn how to read sarcasm. It was said to make a point.

How about a Civic Vs a Tercel?. that's a good one.. both base lines of the honda/toyota NA fleet..

You need to get a clue before you type anything.. damn is ignorance running rampant on this forum. It's not more than a bunch of stupid childish kids.<!-- Signature -->

  2. i'm sorry but i would have to go with the TT, Honda shouldnt be considered a supercar, especially this midget sh!t!!!!!

why is this question even being asked? it's a Civic vs. a TT.. they are different.. this isn't even worthwhile comparison.<!-- Signature -->

  4. Ok my family recently bought a 1998 BMW Z3 2.8 and i raced against my friend's TT and beat him...is this a good comparision? Well blink was just proving that comparing TT's and civics are like apples and oranges...same thing with ferraris and TT's. TT's have bad engines...they are always in for repairs.

    Ok, ok your right... whatever.
How come every mullet loving STANGMAN waste their time writing such sh!t??
Or mabye its time you trim your mullet?
I love it when you domestic fans write worthless posts on the Import section. I guess you have nothing better to do. Mabye your thinking that all the Honda Civic kids will start crying.. ignorant posts like what you wrote above only makes you sound less inteligent than the people you are writing about.
By the way, what do you drive... Im sure you will come up with some fantasy car that you have been dreaming about ever since you started your job working at autozone huh? or mabye its a car that you own on Gran Turismo 2 or 3.
Why dont you spend time in the Domestic forums talking about how to make your... STANG.. faster...., Im sure that you have hooked up your flowmasters, and bored your engine out..to some outrageous level that it leaks oil out of every gasket and seal on your beloved 5.0... Or perhaps you put a ...never mind, its useless....your car is faster than any Civic and Honda in the world... and honda sucks.. blah blah blah.. same ol sh!t Ive heard a million times. Why do you waste your time here.. why not go look at the new FireBird concept car...

    get a life.

BTW, what the hell were you looking at the Civic Type-R anyway? looking to buy one?

    Cheers!<!-- Signature -->

  6. Stangman,

Why are you even wasting your time in this Forum... are you looking to buy a Civic Type-R..??? If you hate JAP cars sooo much, then why are you posting in this section??? looking to buy one?
    Go brush out your mullet!!

  7. StangMan,
    Its called Caps Lock.
Its on the left side of your keyboard. The button called Tab is above it, the button called Shift is below it. When you tap it, a little light (possibly green in color) on the top right corner of your keyboard turns on and off. Make sure that the light is not illuminated(meaning not lit)....
Now, do not mistake the Caps Lock button for the Num Lock button. The Num Lock button is located on top left hand corner of the NumPad or Keypad portion of the keyboard. The surrounding keys are, the number 7(home) located directly below it, the / or foward slash key to the right of it. It also triggers a little light on the top right hand side of the keyboard, but its function is not identical to that of the Caps Lock key.

    thanks..<!-- Signature -->

  8. Based on looks, I'll go with the TT (especially in black). But I've been in one, and it's a tight squeeze. The back seats are for emergencies only. Judging from past Civic HB's, I think the Honda offers quite a bit more interior space, front and rear.

Performance-wise, these two cars are MUCH closer than one might think. Here are some stats from a German motoring magazine:

    Audi TT 1.8/Civic Type R

    Nurburgring: 8:49/8:47
    Hockenheim: 1:20.4/1:20.9
    0-200kmh: 28.7 sec/28.4 sec
    200-0: 5.6 sec/5.4 sec
    Top speed, kmh: 243/235
    Slalom, kmh: 118/124

I think you'll need an S4 or RS4 if you want to convincingly cream the Civic. (To the TT's credit, it was tested 3 years prior.)

  9. holy shit!! Civic is actually that good, it almost beats a 4WD car! <!-- Signature -->

OHHHH.....SO THATS HOW ITS DONE EH????

jk. thats hilarious. i hate people who type all in caps.

oh, and i think id take the civic type R. the TT is turboed (VW 1.8T). so if you turbo the civic, i think it would make for a much more venerable adversary. hehe<IMG SRC="http://www.supercars.net/servlets/cMsg/html/emoticons/smile.gif">

  11. This or TT!!!!!!!!!!!

The TT is so much better than this and faster so The TT rule. The honda is quite nice but wouldn't you rather have a TT. I would.<!-- Signature -->

  14. Yah i would pick the Ferrari 550...... then sell it and buy 3 or more TT's!!! for such a small car..... it sure kicks GIANT a*s....<!-- Signature -->

WELL, COMPARING A FERRARI AND A TT IS ALSO STUPID!!

  17. Even though this comparison is retarded, I'm going to humour you.

I'd take the Type-R all the way, faster for most intents and purposes, better feel, better handling, better quality, more practical, much cheaper, I'd definitely take the Type-R.

P.S. TT is likely the WORST Audi.

  18. The price is justified by social standings, looks, and bragging. No one's gonna stare at your car when you go down the street if your in a civic. The civic is ugly and when they see the Honda badge the will just look and turn away. If your were in a TT it would pull alot more looks.

People would want to take a ride in it. Unlike the Civic which no one would care about it and i don't really blame them. I mean how can you get really excited over an A to B car. It's prob the best A to B car going around but it's still a Civic. People go crazy over exoensive, sporty, sexy looking cars.

  19. "The price is justified by social standings...." hmmm, seems you do understand this concept.....so why then do you not accept it for the NSX? Hell, the Audi TT is half the price, and yet it performs no better than a car that costs less than 1/4 of the price.

Yes, a TT would get more looks, but the better car remains the Civic. And true car enthusiasts would get more attention (one of the first things people say when they ride in my car is "nice car" with an air of surprise to their expression, I think it's mainly because people who don't know anything about the Civic usually have low expectations for it, and when they see how decent it is they're taken aback).

A lot of people think the Civic looks pretty good, you'd be surprised.

The Audi TT does look cool inside and out, and it feels good to sit in, but it also feels kind of gutless when you ride it.

Obviously you've never seen or been in a Civic Type-R, you'd be quite impressed by it, I went to a car show once that had an imported Type-R, a few friends of mine were with me, and they did not like imports much at all, they looked at the Type-R with skepticism at first, but really grew quite excited once they got a closer look, sat in it, and they were really impressed with the positioning of the shifter (personally I don't like it, I have to reach up, I prefer to reach down when I shift gears - although it is cool that it's closer to the steering wheel), they wouldn't stop going on about the Type-R after we left, and this from a bunch of die-hard Chevy guys. They were most impressed with the quality of the seats (designed specifically for racing).

  20. You don't understand what im saying. The CIVIC like the NSX is a HONDA and the TT is an AUDI. Do you understand now.

Well i don't think it looks good.

Yeh iv'e seen a type r but never been in one. Iv'e been in my cousins Civic Si though. It's not bad but nothing special. Chevy guys getting excited over a Civic?? Did you drug them or something.

  21. Audi obtained its roots in just the same manner as Honda did, only 30 years earlier. And Audi's TCS sucks (now), the TCS of their Quattro AWD system negates all forms of advanced driving techniques, it sucks.

I don't think any HSV looks good, but does that really matter to you? so why should your opinion really matter to me.

I've driven the new Si, I'm not very impressed either, steering is numb, the body is too high and narrow (for a Civic), and with the increased torque, the acceleration is more gradual rather than peaky, peaky is better for performance driving.

No, I didn't drug them at all, they liked the feel and look of the car. They're openminded guys, they realize that just one type of design concept doesn't suit all forms of performance driving (something YOU are apparently oblivious to). They're also interested in any new design that's both functional and fun, the Civic Type-R meets both. And they realized right away that for something like autocross, it would annhilate ANY production Chev. with a 305 in it.

  22. You still don't understand what im getting at. HONDA is a JAPANESE company, ill repeat agaian 'JAPANESE'. Audi is GERMAN yes it is 'GERMAN'. The average bloke would take a german car over a Jap car and in most cases i would aswell. Except there too bloody expensive. Bloody Germans.

I don't care what you think and i was just letting you know that i dont think the Civic looks good.

Yeh the Civic is good in Autocross, what's your point.

  23. Most folks would take a KOREAN car over an AUSTRALIAN car too, that doesn't make a Hyundai better than a Holden.

Autocross is one of the most real-to-life forms of racing, so if it does well in autocross, then it will be good for fast driving on every day roads.

  24. I would like to know who would take a Korean car over an Aussie car. German's car are more advanced, luxurious, distinguished, and they are better all round cars than Honda's.

  25. think whatever you like, I disagree, and I'm done with it.

I just rode back from Invermere in a Hyundai Accent (4 hr. drive - at the speed limit, no stops), and the owner solemnly swore she'd never buy an "Australian POS with a GM powerplant in it". And she didn't even like her Accent much (thought it was a good car, but she'd rather own a Subaru, Toyota, or Dodge).
